Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

I don't want to travel alone because I would just stay inside and do nothing.
I always travel alone. My dad used to come with me (the last trip we took together was Montréal back in '19) but he doesn't want to be in airports anymore.

As for crowds, I don't mind them much. Except for the 4 train at rush hour in New York City. That's like going to war.

You are also a guy and don’t necessarily have the same concerns around personal safety.
True dat.

But in my own defense, I had absolutely no idea that @Fantasy Lover was a woman. But now that I do know, I understand her point.

To wit: In my freshman year of college, one night I was returning from one of my half hearted attempts to hang around frat row. All of a sudden this girl, who was also walking across campus, makes a beeline straight for me and immediately hooks her arm around my waist. She says, "If anyone asks, we're in love. " I knew exactly what she was talking about (she was drunk and didn't want to get caught out there alone). So as we approached the dorm where we both lived, she disengages and says "Okay, we're not in love anymore" and we both laughed it off then went our separate ways.

So yes, I DO get it.

The class clown in me has always wanted to go to Communion somewhere (even though I'm not Catholic or Episcopalian), wait for the priest to approach with the wine and crackers, and then start singing, "Pardon me, boy, is that the transubstantiation?" [to the tune of Chattanooga Choo-Choo, obviously]

Yeah, I'm weird.

I can't afford to go anywhere. The only trip we take is the occasional 3.5 hr drive to see my Mom. That's it.
Same here, we haven't been more than 30 minutes away from home in over a decade. The last time we left Arizona was so I could go to Seattle for medical treatment, and that was definitely not a vacation.

Before I got sick a couple months ago, I would occasionally got out on walks by myself, and I'd always feel bad when I ended up walking behind a woman who was also by herself. When that did happen, I kind of wanted to yell out I promise I'm not a creep, but I figured that would just make things worse. So instead I always made a point of keeping my distance and not turning down the same street the woman did.

I don't want to travel alone because I would just stay inside and do nothing. Plus I already had my annual holiday, I could go during the holidays again but I don't feel like it
The last trip I did in 2013 I flew all the way to San Francisco and New York from Sydney to mostly just spend my time in my AirBnb. I was so depressed.

I would have thought that with the election over, the robo-calls would have stopped. But no. Every day I'm getting phone calls/texts saying "We've got to save Democracy. If you contribute even just $5. Etc. Etc."

"Printer's devil" is an old term for an apprentice who performed a number of jobs in a printing shop. It's also the title of a Twilight Zone episode starring Burgess Meredith, Robert Sterling and Patricia Crowley.
