Spoilers Canon, Continuity, and Pike's Accident

As the ship presented on screen in that film?
Hardly.

I'm sure we all physically look exactly the same, with no phenotype variation. Same with all dogs, all lizards, all cats

I was just mocking the known low iq, lack of education and poor. decision making of lebron james. nothing more, nothing less. lol.

The novelization of 'The Undiscovered Country' has the trilogy occurring eleven years before the start of the movie and Sulu taking command of the Excelsior ten years ago - shortly after the events of 'The Final Frontier'.
If we used Okuda dates that would be 2285 (STII-STIV) + 11 years = 2296 (STVI).
'The Wrath of Khan' premiered in 1982 and 'The Undiscovered Country' in 1991; so, that's only nine years in real life.
I remember when I first saw TUC in the theaters, I mentally put it about a decade after the TWOK-TVH trilogy, since the Stardate was in the 9000 range. And on my ST Timeline, it's nine years just as it was in real life, since I have TWOK taking place in 2283 and TUC in 2292.

I agree with the Okuda Chronology that TFF takes place in 2287 because of the involvement of the Romulans on Nimbus III. (I have the founding of "The Planet of Galactic Peace" happening late in 2287, shortly after the Organian Peace Treaty is enacted.) So there's only about five years between TFF and TUC in my mind.

There's nothing stopping them from just using the TMP ship as it is. They didn't mess around with the design of the Cerritos!

If they ever do anything from the TOS movie era, there’s no way they won’t change the look of the refit. The insides are a given but I’m sure they’d make changes to the outside as well. Just like the Discoprise…enough to say…eh…close enough.

It's pretty amazing that this franchise has access to a "most iconic and beautiful starship in all of science fiction history" finalist, and we all know they'd change it. Even though there wouldn't be any way to argue that it doesn't hold up in HD this time, they'd change it anyway.

Well, it's an art not history. It's ok to do up a little bit of changes, and stylings.

Close enough is acceptable to me.

I don't think they'd change much, really. A bit of extra definition to the hull and the odd extra lighting source, but it doesn't really require anything else. Think of that TWOK uniform seen in SNW S1, and that's all I think they'd do, but in Starship form.

It just doesn't need that much updating.

I'm biased of course, since its my favourite spaceship design of all time. That doesn't help my opinion on it. :p

"they" didn't change the Millennium Falcon. At a certain point model fabrication matured and doesn't call out for redesign the same way older stuff can. In the Ephram and the Dot Short Trek, they used the Discoprise during TOS and the TMP Enterprise unchanged.

It doesn't need any updating! They'd do it anyway.

Different "they" unfortunately. Different people making different choices.

I really feel like if the SNW production team were making a season of television set on any ship we've already seen, they would change it in order to make their show distinct and have its own identity. And sell its own model kits. Ephraim and Dot was just working with what Disco and SNW had given them.

Creative people like to be creative.

I guess it depends on the "they".

Considering that we've had the redesign Enterprise turn up in DSC, SNW, PIC S1 and that Short Trek, but have also had the original Enterprise design turn up in PIC S3, LDS and PRO means that anything can happen. It just depends on the showrunner and the rest of the team.

Creative people like to be creative.
They sure do. And when creative people make poor creative choices, audiences call them out on it. Unless they're just making fan fiction for their own benefit, in which case they can do whatever crazy thing they want!

How dare they?

Don't they know by putting something new in it overwrites the old? Won't someone think of the TOS Enterprise and save it?

/s
When you've got an ongoing story, the new overwrites the old unless people realise the new was a bit of a mistake and walks it back. I mean, look what ship turned up in Ephraim and Dot, a cartoon with William Shatner's Kirk in it. It was the Discoprise, not the original ship. Overwritten. Discovery s5 is explicitly set after the Next Generation, and features imagery from the show, but it has the mirror Discoprise. Overwritten.

When heroes with time travel can't find the original looking ship anymore, then it doesn't matter what you think, for all practical purposes it's now gone from the story. It's been replaced.

No.

Because I don't exist in universe. I'm outside it. Things exist because they continue to exist to me. Call it parallel universes, dramatic presentation or whatnot but it continues.

Except they did change the Millennium Falcon in the movie Solo to be a more glamorous ship that then got beaten down into the condition it's in for the original movies. So there's precedent for SNW's redesign certainly (The Cage aside), except the difference between SNW and SW is I don't think SNW's Enterprise is going to be battered by in-universe events into the shape it's in for TOS.
