They're not.I need to watch WandaVision again as I'm confused why the neighbours are still locked up in the spell. Seems rather cruel.

But they seem to be under her control when she lives her fantasiesNo reason? I think there were several reasons.
1. Something really heavy fell on Wanda
2. Rio got involved.
3. Teen got involved.
I'm presuming the main thing is that Wanda died, and if the spell she cast didn't vanish, it was weakended enough that Agatha could break it, once Rio and Teen got involved.
They're not? Only Agatha was. They remember Wanda, and what she did to them, but they're no longer under the spell.
No, they are not. Agatha just perceives them differently. But they seem to be under her control when she lives her fantasies
Yes, exactly. They were going to find the Witches' Road, so I wondered if the fake car was something she rigged as part of a spell to get to the Road. Car, Road, it seemed logical at the time. Then she left the fake car behind and they went in the real car, so I discarded that hypothesis, but I was too busy watching to think back to the fake car and figure out what it actually was instead. No, it was had a steering wheel and mirrors and all of that, and she sat down in it when they were going to leave, so she got in it still thinking it was her car.

I interpreted that as being because she knew the letter implied Rio Vidal was meant as the final member of her coven, which she absolutely did not want. The black heart clearly indicates the last member of the coven was supposed to be Rio Vidal, who is Blackheart in the comics. She also tells Agatha she has a black heart, the locket with her hair is a black heart, etc.
Agatha doesn't want Rio in her coven, due to their love/hate relationship, so she pulls in Sharon as a last-minute replacement.
That's absolutely how I interpret that, too.
I hadn't plan on it initially but I decided to watch Multiverse of Madness as part of my prep. I doubt it'll have any direct connections with this show, but one thing stood out to me that I don't think I noticed before. At one point, Christine tells the Souls of the Damned to go back to Hell, which naturally made me think of Mephisto. And of course, we all know the ongoing gag about Mephisto pulling the strings will lurk over this show just as it did with WandaVision (Reminder: I already said Aubrey Plaza is actually Mephisto who is actually Lenny from Legion. Anything is possible!).
But to be clear, I don't actually think Mephisto will have any involvement in this series. Just a curious and probably unintentional moment in that film.
Yeah, if Rio is Blackheart, then it's a case of gender swapping. Not that I have any problem with that. And, contrary to what has been said here in this thread, I can't find any evidence that the name "Rio Vidal" has ever been connected to Blackheart in the comics. It does seem to be an invention of the show as far as I can see. I am very happily willing to be proven wrong on this point. What about Black Heart then, the son of Mephisto?

Also, remember that Kevin Feige has said that all Marvel movies take place somewhere in the Marvel Multiverse. Therefore, if Rio is Blackheart, then she's a variant of this guy...

Added to clarify-- I keep saying "if" Rio is Blackheart, but that is my theory as well. Just don't want to jump the gun on the story as so many did with Mephisto in WandaVision.
It just struck me -- "Rio Vidal" is Spanish for "River of Life." Does that spark any ideas?
They did already call him Nicholas Scratch when Agatha was in her fantasy, so I don't know that was them subtlely telling us who he is, or if that means he isn't him because they wouldn't want to give it away this early. Right now I'm leaning towards the second option, but I wouldn't totally rule out the first.I thought that the show was decent so far. Its a bit cringe at times, but Agatha is an entertaining/interesting character so she really holds the show up for me. I'm also curious to see whats up with The Teen's backstory and why Agatha can't hear anything he says about his name or backstory (my first thought is that he's the MCU version of Nick Scratch but for some reason doesn't know his connection to Agatha, but thats just an initial theory).
