Spoilers Agatha All Along discussion and spoilers.

Has Agatha been living this Detective Agnes life for THREE YEARS? Wow.

Or she could've been jumping between different decades' detective dramas like Wanda did with sitcoms. That could've been fun to see. A noirish '50s PI drama, a Quinn Martin-style procedural, a groovy '70s car-chase show, a Stephen J. Cannell buddy-detective comedy, a gritty '90s ensemble cop drama, etc.

Looking forward to seeing how this disparate group learns to work together and the mystery of why Teen can't be heard.

Or at least why Agatha can't hear him when he identifies himself, since we haven't yet seen if anyone else has the same issue.

I've only watched one episode so far. I'm disappointed they didn't stick with the concept they had in episode 1. That was fun. It would have been interesting to see it play out a bit longer. Maybe over 3 episodes with each episode being a different style of TV show. Oh well...
We will be getting some of that once they get on The Road, as they go along they'll run into different scenarios based around different type of witch stories from over the last few decades. I know one is going to be a rock band, and on will be an '80s teen horror movies.
I'm glad they dropped 2 eps. Has Agatha been living this Detective Agnes life for THREE YEARS? Wow. Looking forward to seeing how this disparate group learns to work together and the mystery of why Teen can't be heard.
I think her neighbor, Collins, said she'd only been acting strange for the last 3 days, so I'm assuming that was when the whole "Agnes of Westview" thing started.

This was a great start to the season.
The whole Agatha of Westview part of the first episode was good, but I'm glad it didn't take up more of the episode.
So is Rio Vidal Blackheart? It can't be a coincidence that she said she has a black heart, and Agatha's list had a black heart on it, and there is a comics villain called Blackheart. I'm looking forward to hopefully learning more about her and Agatha's history is, it seems to be pretty intense.
The whole cast has already has been absolutely fantastic, but that's pretty standard for most Marvel productions at this point.
I'm curious why Agatha isn't able to know who "Teen" is.
It'll interesting to see what the repercussions of bringing the non-witch Mrs. Davis onto The Witches' Road will be, because I have a feeling you're probably not supposed to do that. Not to mention it also means they don't have all of the powers they're supposed to have to complete it. But we don't know from the trailers that Rio(/Blackheart?) so, we can assume she'll finish the coven.

Has Agatha been living this Detective Agnes life for THREE YEARS?
I don't think so. After the spell was broken and she was talking to whatever Herb the Forensics Guy's real name is, he mentioned she'd been on a "true crime kick the last few weeks." So, from that, I'd infer she was only living Detective Agnes for a maximum of a few weeks. If I were to guess, she's been switching various TV shows and genres the past three years, which her neighbors just shrug off as her latest fad.

Well, that was a lot of fun!

The true crime bit at the start had me wondering what the hell I was watching, but Agatha waking up made me wake up too. ;)

I'm curious about the teen and the spell keeping Agatha from hearing his name.

I love the friendly lady who joins the coven, despite not being a witch. :guffaw:

I liked that as well but I am not sure if would have been good to keep the concept going for to long. Like mentioned I do think we will see the show return to Westview. I hope we see the town folk again when Vision has his show. Kind of interesting if the MCU kept finding excuses to keep coming back to this town.

You quoted the wrong person here.

So are the towns people going to keep playing different characters in these different stories? I mean it would make sense.

The first two episodes were a lot of fun, especially the Mare of Eastown bit once you realise what Agatha's car actually was

I hadn't realised Debra Jo Rupp was a fully fledged cast member so that was a pleasant surprise.

Presumably what awaits them at the end of the Witches Road is Kurtwood Smith to tell them they're all dumbasses.

Kathryn Hahn was superb and I like Teen as well.

I'm a little confused on the details. How was she paying the bills in a fugue state for the last three years? I don't think we're supposed to dwell on it much though.

I'm not familiar with that reference. What is the car?

I got the impression that she was actually going through everyday life, that many of her interactions with other people in town were real, but her perception of what was actually going on was distorted. So she'd show up at the library or whatever acting like a detective, and they'd humor her while shaking their heads behind her back. But surely her detective character had to do everyday business like paying the bills and buying groceries, so she was probably acting pretty normally when doing those things, as opposed to when she was "on a case."

The fact that her 'car' was a dining room chair with some bits attached!

It seemed clear the detective angle was fairly recent.

Oh, I didn't get that. I thought that was something she rigged up as part of the spell she was trying to cast.

They said she'd been on a True Detective kick for three weeks, or something like that. That doesn't preclude her recapitulating a journey through the history of detective TV like Wanda did with sitcoms. After all, she's been stuck in her "Agnes" identity for three years.

It doesn't preclude it, but in the absence of any evidence to suggest that Agatha was playacting Cagney and Lacey etc before her True Detective phase the simplest rationale is that she'd spent three years just playing the nosey neighbour role she'd been pretending to be, only for real. That seemed to be what Wanda had planned for her. (not that it isn't a fun idea, but there was a very clear thematic reason Wanda was doing that.)

As for money I think she might have already had some before WandaVision. I mean she must have been doing something before that show aired. Mt guess as a witch the ability to steal money is probably not that hard.

I'm not sure it's the simplest rationale, because it contains an ad hoc assumption -- that the way her brainwashing worked suddenly changed 3 weeks ago for no reason. Maybe there is a reason for the change that will be a plot point later, but that in itself would mean it's not nearly as simple as the idea that it's been working this way all along.

I need to watch WandaVision again as I'm confused why the neighbours are still locked up in the spell. Seems rather cruel.

No reason? I think there were several reasons.

1. Something really heavy fell on Wanda
2. Rio got involved.
3. Teen got involved.

I'm presuming the main thing is that Wanda died, and if the spell she cast didn't vanish, it was weakended enough that Agatha could break it, once Rio and Teen got involved.

They're not? Only Agatha was. They remember Wanda, and what she did to them, but they're no longer under the spell.
