Spoilers Agatha All Along discussion and spoilers.

I'm sliding this right before the wire and I know I'm days late on posting this (which goes to show how far behind I am with watching stuff in general), but Sasheer Zamata was on The Daily Show on Thursday and was interviewed by Jordan Klepper, who she did improv with a decade ago:

I love how Patti LuPone made everyone feel relaxed on set about singing, especially considering they didn't even know they would be singing when they were hired for their roles. I'm pretty sure I noted this at the time of her casting in the Marvel thread, but Zamata coincidentally did a stand-up special about witches just prior to her casting, which makes this role extra special for her. Lastly, I loved hearing who she would have in her own coven made up of fictional witches.

There didn't seem to be a coverage of the entire red carpet event, but Marvel has posted some highlights.

An excellent start of the season! I'm grateful that they released two episodes right away so they could deal with Agatha's imprisonment and then the gathering of her desperate coven in a one-two punch, before heading down the Witches' Road.

Best of all, there are plenty of mysteries to go around, from the identity of Joe Locke's "Teen" (even if all of us probably know who he actually is), the nature of the Salem's Seven, Agatha's dark history with Rio Vidal (and if that's whether her true name...), where does the Witches' Road lead, and the backstories of the rest of the witches in Agatha's coven.

But whose mystery I find the most curious of all is Sharon Davis'. I've wondered about her role in all of this since it was announced Debra Jo Rupp was returning and playing a major role in the show (and not just a fun cameo like the rest of the Westview denizens). Particularly telling is how Agatha actively avoided wanting her in the coven despite the fact Sharon appears to be an ordinary human with a green thumb and not this apparently most important witch of the journey, the so-called Green Witch. Considering how much Agatha brushed aside Herb (edit: sorry, John Collins...damn you, Wanda!) and the rest of the Westview residents, clearly she didn't have an issue with dealing with one of Wanda's tortured souls and what Sharon may think of Agatha.

As for the themed episodes, I absolutely loved the first episode's Very Serious take on Mare of Easttown (which is particularly amusing since it came out at the same time as WandaVision and also starred Evan Peters), right down to how much that version of Agatha resembled Mare's moody life. Not surprising the second episode largely played it straight as it set up the Witches' Road but I did love the creepy nature of the Salem's Seven. They're going to be...fun...

Interesting "Easter Egg"
The name on the plaque is "Nicholas Scratch" who, if I remember my comic's history, is the son of Agatha Harkness and the leader of the Salem Seven.
I noticed the significance of his name...but I didn't know about his particular role.

I hope Sharon Davis isn't revealed to be a witch or someone with magic or anything. I just kind of like that they are dragging along this nice regular middle age lady along for the adventure. In away I think she might be the audiences POV character. As for both episodes I really liked them a great deal. I had high expectations for the show being good. Got a little nervous when they did the reviewer embargo but what I saw was both fun and scary. Loved seeing all the townsfolk again from Wandavision. Also laughed at Agatha's "Car" which wasn't really a car. Got to assume she was just sitting in that thing in the opening scene.

I also have a prediction. This road they are going on will bring them full circle and they will find themselves back in Westview in the final couple of episodes. I think it's possible that this town is some kind of magnet with witch energy or whatever one calls that kind of power they have. It's something Wanda even knew subconsciously and why that town out all the possible towns is where she decided to create her tv sitcom fantasy life.

That's a fair point and you might be right. But there's definitely more to Agatha's initial unease of including Sharon Davis.

The only problem with that theory is that the reason she went to Westview was because of the lot deed that Vision bought prior to the events of Infinity War.

It's possible she somehow put that idea in Vision but is unaware of it.

I interpreted that as being because she knew the letter implied Rio Vidal was meant as the final member of her coven, which she absolutely did not want. The black heart clearly indicates the last member of the coven was supposed to be Rio Vidal, who is Blackheart in the comics. She also tells Agatha she has a black heart, the locket with her hair is a black heart, etc.

Agatha doesn't want Rio in her coven, due to their love/hate relationship, so she pulls in Sharon as a last-minute replacement.

I've only watched one episode so far. I'm disappointed they didn't stick with the concept they had in episode 1. That was fun. It would have been interesting to see it play out a bit longer. Maybe over 3 episodes with each episode being a different style of TV show. Oh well...

Ahhh...good point! I didn't know about Blackheart but I completely missed the other clues. That makes more sense than my postulation that Sharon Davis is more than she seems.

I'm glad they dropped 2 eps. Has Agatha been living this Detective Agnes life for THREE YEARS? Wow. Looking forward to seeing how this disparate group learns to work together and the mystery of why Teen can't be heard.
