Old TV shows/ Series you remember watching.

Here's one for those who have lived in the Pacific Northwest/Puget Sound - Almost Live!
It started out, in 1984, as an hour-long local talk show that aired at 6pm on Sunday's on KING5, the local NBC affiliate, in the vein of 'Late Night with David Letterman' with interviews with local politicians/celebrities/sports stars, etc., with a house band and pre-taped bits.
When the host Ross Shafer left to take over hosting duties for FOX's 'The Late Show', comedian and bit performer John Keister was tapped to take over hosting duties.
It quickly became apparent that Keister wasn't a good fit behind the desk and the producers began to emphasize the comedy bits more frequently and an ensemble of cast members, much like 'Saturday Night Live' was established along with recurring sketches and characters.
The show was shortened to half an hour, and with NBC's permission, moved to, and pre-empted 'Saturday Night Live' at 11:30pm, where it would air until 1999, until KING5's new owners cancelled it, citing lack of profit from local sponsors.
Cast members who would go on to bigger and better things included Bill Nye 'The Science Guy', Joel McHale, Oscar nominated screenwriter Bob Nelson. comedian Laureen Weedman, Pat Cashman, who narrated Nintendo's 'Super Smash Bros. Brawl' and head writer Jim Sharp, who is now Senior Vice President of Original Programming and Development for Comedy Central.

Oh wow Kids TV shows that were inappropriate.. I don't think we had many, or any of these in Australia but ok that was an interesting and creepy look at kids shows.

when I was a little kid in the early 1980s I would watch the Rich Little Christmas special whenever it came on. I think he was a member of Saturday Night Live at the time or something. I should look for it on YouTube to rewatch it.

Hey i have been reading about Avenue 5.

Anybody here watched it all and want to give a rating? From 1-5 1 being total shite and 5 being you should watch.

Anyone remember The Girl From Tomorrow?

It was an Aussie show, IIRC.

"Modern day" Australia in "The Girl From Tomorrow" looked like mid WWII Europe or Skaro.

Has it changed much?

Has anyone else seen an even shorter lived sci-fi series on CBS in 1985 called Otherworld?
nope. I was too busy being 5 years old at the time busy with elementary school stuff and playing with G.I. Joe, Star Wars, Supernaturals, and the Eric Warlord action figures and reading Alpha Flight and Power Pack comics. Plus the only time I was into tv at the time was when USA Network had scary shows etc on like Saturday Nightmares and the weirdo Commander USA
