Jack Crusher and the LaForge sisters...
Paramount+, this should have been your comedy. Jack Crusher trying to juggle two sisters while fighting the Borg!

They could lose the lights on the railings and steps. Must be FedOSHA rules or something,I appreciate the effort they made, but there is just something missing/off about it.
I'm too late on my throuple joke.Paramount+, this should have been your comedy. Jack Crusher trying to juggle two sisters while fighting the Borg!
This myth that Terry Matalas somehow, against all odds, managed to craft Picard season 3 with his own bare hands, all while fighting off the evil of Alex Kurtzman, is truly a cancer on this fandom.
Alex Kurtzman as head of the Star Trek Franchise, would have had final say on all elements of production, from ship designs to budget. The notion that Matalas somehow rebelled and did things behind Kurtzman's back and 'upstaged' is complete nonsense.
Picard season 3 had a "minimal/scaled-down/shoestring budget".
Terry Matalas fired the Picard season 2 writers and brought in his own team of writers.
Carpet?I appreciate the effort they made, but there is just something missing/off about it.
Carpet?
Still not sure why they stopped including carpet given how important it is for sound design.Carpet?

The biggest surprise for me in there is that season 2 - which has the overall charm of being filmed in a garbage dump, based on a script they found in there - was somehow more expensive and bigger scaled than season 1!? What the hell. How?
Covid precautions and delays were incredibly expensive. Plus, some sets used for season 3 were actually built for season 2. The Stargazer/Ttan in particular. I'm sure that cost a few bucks. The biggest surprise for me in there is that season 2 - which has the overall charm of being filmed in a garbage dump, based on a script they found in there - was somehow more expensive and bigger scaled than season 1!? I mean, yeah, Corona. But Jesus, I thought season 2 sucked so much ass because they didn't have a budget & needed to improvise.
You're telling me now this was all a deliberate choice?!? And that they willfully chose to forgo any season 1-like scifi action for that stupid fucking boring car chase scene?
Well Fuck Matalas.
Yes.You're telling me now this was all a deliberate choice?!? And that they willfully chose to forgo any season 1-like scifi action for that stupid fucking boring car chase scene?
There's always a need for a villain. Kurtzman is Berman's true heir.
In addition to the aforementioned COVID protocols, delays, and set construction, there is the fact that a majority of S2 consists of location shooting, which costs significantly more than shooting in a studio does. The biggest surprise for me in there is that season 2 - which has the overall charm of being filmed in a garbage dump, based on a script they found in there - was somehow more expensive and bigger scaled than season 1!? Yeah, the D always did seen like it would explode if you looked at it funny.
To be fair, pretty much every Galaxy class we ever encountered wound up getting blown up eventually, including the D. And while the Galaxy class Syracuse may not have blown up, her saucer section seems to have been rendered inoperable at some point. The Enterprise D/Syracuse hybrid maybe the only Galaxy class still operable by 2501, only 35 years after the class launched!Them's fightin' words, sonny.![]()
I'm pretty sure this maneuver is taught to every Galaxy Class Chief Engineer upon being promoted to the position.Them's fightin' words, sonny.![]()

Maybe. Or it might be one of the six or seven that we know survived the Dominion War. (As seen in Endgame.)The Enterprise D/Syracuse hybrid maybe the only Galaxy class still operable by 2501, only 35 years after the class launched!
Alternate history. Where were they in The Last Generation?Maybe. Or it might be one of the six or seven that we know survived the Dominion War. (As seen in Endgame.)
