Tiny Trek Adventures (ongoing comic)

Just a heads up everyone, going on a trip this weekend and I have zero idea if I'll have internet or the quality of it, so you might not see this week's release posted here until Monday.

It is going tup on Thursday at 5 PM EST on my DA page though. ;)

It is always good to have some time off :) Safe travels.

Thank you! I need the break from work!

Have a good trip! :techman:

Thank you! Seeing friends I only ever see once a year so it'll be fun

And here's a fun 'what if we used real models for Tiny Trek?' guest starring Starkiller's Valiant.

The Valiant is scaled to the 11ft Enterprise which puts the Aries to scale at 3ft 1 inch. ;)

Doing the math:

Length: 80.895 m
Width: 68.870 m
Height: 18.584 m

Allowing for three meters per deck, it could be six decks, but looking at the underbelly, I'd guess four full decks plus two smaller diameter decks (one top one bottom). Cozy.

I would love to see your deck plans...someday. :)

Do you mean Ashley's or the set I created? I am not allowed to post mine because they fall under ADB's copyright umbrella, and also because there is a decent chance ADB will be able to publish them someday.

But oh, yes, I would love to see the internals of Ashley's cozy little ship.

Curious, why would ADB have deck plans of the Aries? Or are we talking about the Valiant's deck plans?

I guess I wasn't clear. I drafted plans for the Federation police cutter from SFB. The Aries is in the same weight class, so I'd love to see its plans. Call me a geek.

@ashleytinger This has probably been asked before but what software are you using for the character assets? (read the first page of the thread, doh) And does it have an initial or ongoing cost, if you don't mind me asking?

I'm referring to Ashley's beautiful USS Aries. :D <Is it "USS"?>

@ashleytinger: By-the-by, is the ship's name anywhere on the outside of the ship?
<edit.: Oops, found it.>

I have VERY rough ones laud out using the 3d parts of the sets that needs cleaning up to share.

I'm using Blender (Blender for Artists specifically to build the models since Truespace quit working for me. It is free. I use DAZ Studio to pose the characters and render in the interiors with imported sets from Blender and Truespace.

The Zodiac class is considered full blow ships by the upper brass so would carry the USS designation as part of Starfleet but outside Starfleet they're test bed ships and experimental and as far as the Triangle is considered they're smaller escort ships so they don't raise as much of a stink from the independent worlds that a full on Constitution or one of the other bigger class of ships.
