Tiny Trek Adventures (ongoing comic)

Yep, time to slap him around a little until he's gonna cry for his mommy.. :devil:
Nice work! :mallory::techman:

*tries to raise a Vulcan eyebrow, fails*

Indeed

Warp 2? Classic warp speed combat!? :biggrin:

Heck yeah! The Orions we saw in TOS were attacking the Enterprise at warp. I couldn't imagine pirates doing anything different. Hit and run at speed. Shock and awe and then get your prize. Avril has decided they're going to use that technique back on them instead of being a more or less stationary target while they guard their little bomb and the convoy.

And I miss the long range combat of TOS so I figured I'd throw it in. ;)

It's only Speed 8 in the Star Fleet Battles & Federation Commander games.

Indeed. Only 8 times the speed of light instead of TNG's 10 times the speed of light. ;)

Speed = Warp Factor cubed (W^3) times Light-speed.

Ergo, Warp 2 = speed 8, Warp 3 = speed 27. The max speed a SHIP (or shuttle / fighter) can go is speed 31, while Romulan Plasma Torpedoes (also used by Gorn and others) move at speed 32. Fast drones (guided missiles) also go speed 32. (Photon Torpedoes are so fast they hit "instantaneously".)

In the game, ships that break speed 31 jump to high-warp and disengage the combat area. By happy coincidence, PI-cubed == 31.00627668. In other words, once your ship hits Warp PI, you're in a slightly different set of physics laws some additional factor comes into play making speeds much, much higher than S=W^3c.

Rolling Scissors?

I marked a "like", but I'm not liking that they're running with shields down.

Only while they're running away... er.. buying some time ;)

It looks to be a great battle so far. :techman:

Just an fyi that the maneuver on panel 2 is an Immelmann and not a Rolling Scissors.

It is a bummer that the Aries can't take advantage of both Orion ships knocked down to partial main power :devil:

Those disruptors though are still spicy hot ;)
