I'll watch it on a second review and give it a better shake.
If they didn't die when their connection was severed, then I'm pretty sure the fire would have finished them off.

I was waiting all season for a big reveal about the secret Bad Thing (TM) the Jedi did and now we find out their reason for being on the planet was innocuous, their curiosity about the twins understandable, and that they acted in self-defense once the coven tried to kill them.
There's people freaking about about how badly this portrayed the Jedi, but I don't see it. At worst it was a case of both sides making mistakes.
To be the fair, the Jedi twice broke into the castle, breaking down the locks, mumbling something about snatching children. That was a hostile challenge. In fact, in most US jurisdictions using lethal force against the Jedi would likely be covered by castle (literally) doctrine.
Where Mother Aniseya messed up was inexplicably - seriously what were her intentions at the time? - turning herself into black smoke with eerie sounds paying in front of Sol. Sol did many shady things, but in that situation I do not blame him for stabbing it with a light saber.
Because everything was his fault for being a dumbass.
I'm glad that this episode rehabilitated the Jedi to an extent and made it so the incident was just an accident with generally good intentions but a few mistakes/bad actors on each side.
I liked the episode overall. It didn't have a big shocking reveal, but the way it was portrayed made the whole thing feel like an unfortunate mess that got out of hand instead of genuine malice from anyone, which is obviously the more tragic outcome.
Sol, inexplicably, overreacted from the start. Maybe it was due to the small tease by Indara how he doesn't have a Padawan and that may be his greatest wish, so he got too close to Osha which started a chain of events that led to many deaths.
As it turns out the story was very predictable - Jedi waltz into a place they have no right to be, by virtue of just being Jedi they make demands of Force users which naturally raises opposition ( similar if a christian would walk into a muslim home and make demands just because they're christian) and a volatile situation was created due to ingrained Jedi ignorance which immediately created a hostile environment.
Given that it is the penultimate episode the only open question is who these Witches were, why they created Osha/Mae apparently out of thin Force air (judging by the complexity of the show it may just be as simple as they wanted children) and what their goals were but we still need to have resolution on the Osha/Mae/Sol and the Quimir/Sith front that will take centerstage in the finale of course.
So i fear the only mystery left may remain a mystery.
Why the entire group of Witches died when Indara severed their connection to Kelnacca i don't know, for now it's stupid.
And now it's pretty obvious why Lucas opposed Wookie Jedi - a being with huge physical strength and with Jedi powers might be overkill and i don't think Lucas wanted to portray the Jedi as being warriors alone.
So yeah, i have little confidence the finale will turn everything in its head in an interesting way. Osha and Mae may reconcile, Sol will either die taking out Quimir to protect Osha and Mae or he will die atoning for his crime and release both of them to live apart from the Jedi and Quimir may go on to start the Sith in earnest.

Only if you pretend Ahsoka, the Book of Boba Fett and Mando Season 3 don't exist.
Some parts were not that great but overall I enjoyed it. The novels are a good read; seeing how people interpreted what the Clone Wars were before the prequels.
Really? I thought those ones were better TBH. Kenobi was the only one i thought was rather poor. Everything felt underultised there.
in the scene about 6:00 of today's E7, the 2 girls were in the forest w/ some yellow tree branches dangling down, and 1 of the girl moves her hand, the other girl said "stop it".

Mae has Force gripped one of the butterfly-esque creatures and is holding it static between her hands.
We saw the exact same moment from the girls' perspective a few episodes ago.

I thought Kenobi was, on balance, okay. It had its good moments and it had moments that were unbelievably DUMB. And so, in the final analysis, it was "okay."
Boba Fett, I thought, was the worst. Ahsoka could have been an email.
