Picard film in development

I am not even sure we would see more of the Picard characters in this movie. Just more of Picard. God only knows if they would even acknowledge he is now a android.

We’d probably at the very least see Soji meeting Data. And see Seven, Raffi and Jack on the Ent-G if the film is meant to be like a crossover film like GEN. Those are the only ones I think are a guarantee.

We might see Elnor, depending on what his role in the story is, if he’s given one at all. He doesn’t necessarily have to work with Picard, or be serving as a temp onboard the Ent-G. He could be doing some Qowat Milat business and be working for Jake Sisko and Kira, or for Admiral Janeway and Harry Kim, or be in the Fenris Rangers with Naomi Wildman. Or even work for Sela while treating her as a surrogate parent figure. But considering how much of an afterthought Elnor has been after PIC S1, despite being Picard’s surrogate son, I don’t expect him to play even a minor role at all.

Jurati, IDK. The writers loved their Borg callbacks during PIC, and a part of me feels that they would fall back on the Borg again to meet the expectations of SPS to explore a fearful and stump Picard. Even though there should be a number of non-Borg avenues to explore to show a fearful and stumped Picard. And there is that transwarp hub that the Jurati Borg are monitoring that was never resolved. But I’m not sure if that transwarp hub story is supposed to be a Picard story or a Legacy story. I feel, barring a rescue attempt, Jurati's story with Picard is done. Legacy can explore her relationship with other TNG era characters.

Rios…depends on if they do anything with his La Sirena personalities at all. Theoretically, those five personalities could be merged into one and be given a mobile emitter. But, I don’t expect any time travel shenanigans to occur to give us the real Rios again though. So, I think his story with Picard is also done, and as with Jurati, Legacy can explore his relationship with other TNG era characters.

Laris…if the writers remember she exist, she can play a role in the story. At minimum, she should be on the Ent-D with the rest of the crew.

Commodore Oh/General Nadar…IDK. She’d be a worthy antagonist, if there is an antagonist in the film, and has been built up enough to be one. And she had a significant impact on the TNG crew: Picard (led to quitting Starfleet and his eventual death on Coppelius, with his organic body being sought out by the Changelings and the Borg to be used as a transmitter to assimilate Starfleet), Riker & Troi (lost their son to a preventable disease due to synth ban), Data (daughters persecuted), the Zhat Vash movement is on Qo’noS too (Worf) and according to the novel The Last Best Hope, Geordi (nearly killed). It would be plausible if Oh/Nadar was the intermediary between the Changelings and the Borg. And at least it would pave the way for a surprise Zhaban return, in the manner of him faking his death to work for Section 31 to go undercover and hunt down the Zhat Vash. The one bad thing about Oh/Nadar coming back would be that, usually in Star Trek films, the antagonists are killed off, save for Khan in Into Darkness, V'ger in TMP and the Whale Probe from TVH. If Oh/Nadar was killed off, Legacy would miss out on a legal drama episode involving her.

Narek…unless Narissa is resurrected with Borg nanoprobes and she’s by his side again, or he was the intermediary for the Changelings an the Borg, nah. He’s not a strong enough antagonist on his own, if there is an antagonist in the film. I don’t think he’ll be seen again until Legacy. As best, he’s referenced.

I don’t think we are getting Adam Soong, Renee Picard, and/or the Ramirez family, either. Barring shenanigans from either Q or a different Q. Kore might appear, but a Wesley cameo is far more likely and makes more sense. Due to his ties to the TNG crew and, barring his deleted scene from NEM, he’s never been in a TNG film.

Elnor was already practically done before season 1 even finished. In hindsight they should've just had Laris leave with Picard.

Love Sir Patrick but honestly I think "The Last Generation" should have been the last we ever heard of Jean-Luc Picard.

If we do get a PIC movie, though, I hope it brings back both the TNG cast and the PIC cast. I want to see Soji and Data together. I want to see Elnor and Jack get drunk together. I want to see Agnes and Beverly.

Soji and Data, at least.

The others I can take or leave.

If they drag the TNG crew and the E-D out of mothballs (again), it would make a mockery of PIC S3 being the "last" TNG adventure. :shifty:

It's great that Stewart still wants to play the character but I think it's time to move on. He already got a great finish.

If they do it right and the film takes place between the final battle and the end of the PIC ( one year later), then that wouldn't be touched.

...and it would provide the opportunity to use the Enterprise-D again before she was displayed in the Fleet Museum.

Should add Worf to that scene.

I want to see Agnes and Beverly.

Geordi and Agnes could be just as interesting.

What if Seven and the Ent-G crew drag the Ent-D out of mothballs because they need a ship after something happened to the Ent-G? Is it still a mockery?

What would be the story there though? Consider when we leave off prior to the jump to a year later.
  • Seven’s recently been promoted to captain
  • Raffi’s on speaking terms with her family again, but not yet first officer (and who knows where her relationship with Elnor stands now)
  • Jack’s on the Academy fast track
  • Data’s exploring being human, has no rank (though he could finally be promoted to captain within this year long period)
  • Geordi head up Fleet Museum and just got his best friend back
  • Troi’s planning a vacation, which we learn is down to two choices a year later. And his helping Data adapt to being human
  • Riker retains the rank of captain through the year (I suppose he could have been promoted and demoted within the span of a year, though it doesn’t make much sense)
  • Worf parts ways with Raffi and continues with his pacifism
  • Beverly heads up Starfleet Medical (again), this time spearheading new medical tech
  • Picard has relationships with Jack and Laris to focus on
  • Titan-A has new tech that screens for Changelings
  • Ent-D is in active service, after the fleet ben reduced
  • La Sirena is AWOL
Is the story just going be, they find out Ro Laren is still alive and is being held by Changelings and they seek to bring her home?

And then what’s going to be the final scene in the movie? Another callback to AGT, with Picard and Geordi in Picard’s vineyard? Or the crew on the bridge for one final shot, like in FC?

As things are, the final scene in PIC is a perfect ending for them. And even I who has grown to be open minded to a movie, am not sure why one would want to ruin that.

Is it still a mockery?
Possibly.

Tropey as hell, and possible mockery.

I don't think anyone wants to ruin it. I think, like all things that people enjoy for it to continue.

Although that movie also recast Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, and fans have generally responded positively to him. So much so that he's getting his own Disney+ series or movie, depending which rumor is circulating this week.

That movie is one of my favorite Star Wars movies. If I had to do Tiers:

Tier 1: A New Hope, Emprie Strikes Back, Rogue One.

Tier 2: Return of the Jedi, Solo, The Last Jedi.

Tier 3: Force Awakens, Rise of Skywalker, Revenge of the Sith.

Tier 4: Phantom Menace, Clone Wars.

I’m already tired of the Enterprise-G. I want to see the Enterprise-H now. And at the rate they go through Enterprises, I’ll probably get my wish.
Given how the -F was just the Titan bridge with an office chair in the middle, I wonder what they'll do to their existing set for the -H? A sofa? Park bench?

The Ent-F's appearance at the Fleet day was it's last before retirement.

Until Admiral Janeway allows Captain Seven to use it for a mission.

In the grand scheme of things, the Ent-F isn’t old. The original USS Enterprise when Kirk took command was older than the Ent-F was at retirement. I'm not sure what that virus was that led to its early decommission, but the Ent-F seemed fine on Frontier Day.

It'll probably be a refit G.

A year later, when the Titan-A was rechristened to the Ent-G, it was a shakedown cruise. I doubt the refit and repairs after Frontier Day lasted a year.

Back in the season premiere, when Raffi was looking over upcoming events that could be a potential target for a terrorist attack, the Enterprise F's decommissioning ceremony was listed among them. It was going to be decommissioned even without the Frontier Day fiasco.
