Who's your Captain?

Alright alright.. Happy Holi...day...gram...species??? You've chosen your Captain. Offered evidence.. Almost argued. I ask you.
WHO IS YOUR NUMBER ONE?!?!

To start... Spock is not my favorite but he did define Vulcans. As I know them. That being said... T'Pol would be my #1. Infallible as anyone, time bears out her loyalty. Not to even mention her ability to... Adapt ;-)

Color me disappointed. Spock? He is the main First Officer. Ever. Deny that... i dare ya! But over time. Mix and match. Jellico this.. Data that. Pike. Wharf! Who would be THE Dynamic Duo?... That you would serve under. Scrubbing plasma ports and the like?

There we go! Yes! Star Trek is a doorway to our Universe. Sparks our imagination. I mean... Do we not have every right to assemble it in a fashion of our own making? I am super excited to hear your ideas! Lets put together a G.O.A.T. Team.

"It takes a village". As they say. The ability to work with these people is a given. I'm interested in hearing more. I like Janeway/T'pol. But there are so many facinating personalities amd combinations. Imagine.

In some Naval traditions, a person can hold the rank of commander, but be in charge of a ship, and will still be called 'captain'.

Yes, including Starfleet, as was explained in DS9 "Behind the Lines":
DAX: Are you two ever going to finish?

NOG: Just a few more minutes, commander.

O'BRIEN (correcting him): That's "captain." (explaining) It's an old naval tradition. Whoever's in command of a ship, regardless of rank, is referred to as "captain."

NOG: You mean if I had to take command, I'd be called "captain," too?

O'BRIEN (wry): Cadet, by the time you took command, there wouldn't be anyone left to call you anything.

Late to the party but...

My captain is Burnham. Will talk though the problem, is hard when she needs to be, is soft when she needs to be, and isn't afraid to break eggs when the situation demands it. As her first officer, I think it would be fascinating to see how she handles season 1 Riker.

I'd say the same thing about Janeway. Considering that she effectively destroyed the career of a junior officer for one act of illicit sex, I wonder what she'd make of Will "bang anything female" Riker.

Captain Kangaroo, huh? Commanding the USS Melbourne, right?

I think he was first stationed on the Lollipop! Then the main Guild on board had him transferred; he hopped to the nearest available ship... :shifty: :guffaw:

Good golly Miss Molly! I am a bit remiss. DS9 did not hold my attention. I wandered away. Missed episodes. Never caught up. It was a turbulent time in my life. I had no idea. What the heck happened there?

I found some edited highlights:

From "For the Uniform", in the latter half of a character arc.
Sisko, unlike any other captain save for Kirk, will react if cornered by the baddies and with equal fervor:

Then comes this, from the standalone "Sons of Mogh" (Season 4):

The only other sci-fi commander that comes close is Sinclair, but I think Sisko is just a tad better. Especially when we get to the best bit:

(That never gets old and no other Captain/Commander comes close. Tiny spoiler, on edit: Sisko is promoted to Captain, so he qualifies for sure.)

:luvlove:
