Who's your Captain?

Sisko. Then Kirk. Then Janeway. Then Picard. Then Kang. Then Kangaroo. Then the rest.

The GOAT.

Welcome, Scott L. Clark!!! You're engaging a phenomenal forum; I am happy you've arrived.

Well I do thank you so very much! I'm just happy I have come across people that I would not have to explain myself to when they see a pic of Hoshi as the wallpaper on my phone (communication is key and nobody does it better... To me anyway). Ao TY!

I always liked Hoshi. She had a very clear, and remarkable, growth from "FIGHT OR FLIGHT" to "TERRA PRIME". (A very scared, ready to jump ship woman to a confident, strong, and vocal officer who stood up to the Earth president.) Linda Park wasn't given a great deal, but she really, really got excellent mileage out of what she was given.

Thank you! Dear Omnipotent One! I see a very courageous woman in Hoshi. Reluctant at times albeit, she faces down her speedbumps (gulp) to do what she believes is important. Courage is not the absence of fear. But the willingness to go on in spite of it. I admire this lady.

Janeway, she's a great captain. Picard is a close second.
Picard is indeed the "Salt" of human kind. Command presence. Humanity. Vulnerable. Quintessentially fair. But Janeway owns my sword. She leads? Even if I doubt, I follow. Silly human heart I guess.

I know the feeling. Janeway doesn't top my list because she had the dubious luck of being at the whims of a team of showrunners for whom counting out 38 torpedoes or promoting an ensign were excessively difficult concepts. But she was an amazing character nonetheless. I will enjoy seeing where Prodigy, which seems adeptly run, takes her.

At the moment I really like Pike from 09 and Into Darkness and he was the first one that jumped out. I like his intelligence and competence. But Kirk, Picard, Janeway, Sisko, and Archer are all pretty good. I think 09 Kirk would have been a better Starfleet James Bond than a captain though,

Picard was my first and still favorite (Minus Season 2 of Picard). Sisko comes in a close second and Janeway is third.

Despite her maybe not being a good captain, I want to give Carol Freeman some love. Love how she has developed in the 4 seasons of the show.

It's a tough call.

Most would say Kirk, Picard or Sisko. They are tied for me. All 3 were great, charismatic leads, with a very strong commanding style I appreciated. Especially Picard's epic smackdown speeches. Tough bar to top.

Janeway and NuPike are entertaining. Light fun.

Archer was a joke for two seasons and only became worthwhile when they wrote him as Jack Bauer.

Burnham... less said the better.

The one, the only, James T. Kirk. But the original flavor, no Pine or Wesley. All the Shat Man.

Sisko is runner up with Picard running 3rd.

Archer, Freeman, Janeway, Pike and Burnham finish out in that order.

"Cage" Pike - Too stiff, too easily angered, and a sexist to boot (even for the '60s).
TOS Kirk - Seems cliche to say he's my favorite. We'll circle around back to him.
Picard - Did some things I disagree with.
Sisko - Did some things I disagree with.
Janeway - Some unpopular things I agree with her on, but other things I don't.
Archer - Not a fan of his.
Kelvin Pike - I like him from what little we saw.
Kelvin Kirk - Also not a fan of his. I was Team Spock.
Georgiou - I agree with everything she said in the brief time we saw her, but she had some fatal flaws. Literally.
Lorca - Great character to watch, but no one I'd want to serve under. And he's a fraud.
DSC/SNW Pike - Too soft and happy-go-lucky for my tastes. How is this the same guy from "The Cage"?
Saru - Not only is he too soft to be Captain, but he makes some truly bone-headed decisions.
Burnham - We only have one season to judge her from -- as Captain -- but I agree with Rillak. She still has a lot to learn.
Rios - Great guy, but I don't really see him as a Captain. Take the cigar out of your mouth.
Shaw - Total asshole. Love the actor in the role, but not a character I'd want to serve under.
Seven of Nine - N/A. Haven't seen her in action as Captain... yet. (Yes, I went there!)
SNW Kirk - N/A. We haven't seen him as Captain of the Enterprise... yet.

Looking at all of this: Yes. I'm going with Kirk.

TOS Kirk, just so there's no confusion.

I am absolutely loving the diversity of this forum! Is it possible I have found my kin in this crazy world? I say YES! Bless you all! (Side note... In the Year of Hell, Janeway lost her ponytail :-(. Still MY Captain. But, Darnnit!) Peace.

Good golly Miss Molly! I am a bit remiss. DS9 did not hold my attention. I wandered away. Missed episodes. Never caught up. It was a turbulent time in my life. I had no idea. What the heck happened there?
