Who's your Captain?

Good golly Miss Molly! I am a bit remiss. DS9 did not hold my attention. I wandered away. Missed episodes. Never caught up. It was a turbulent time in my life. I had no idea. What the heck happened there?
Well... before he was Sisko, Avery Brooks played an iron-fisted mob enforcer named Hawk, and his preferred look was shaved head with a goatee... when he was hired to play Sisko, the producers presumably wanted to distance him from that admittedly iconic character. So, it was written into his contract that he shave his chin and let his hair grow. By Season 4, when it was time to renegotiate the cast's contracts, Sisko was more established in his own right, and Brooks was able to renegotiate that part of his contract. This allowed him to look the way he wanted to look.

I'm normally not wild at all about shaved heads, but I have to say, Avery Brooks made it work.

Well, in "The Way of the Warrior", Sisko lost ALL of his hair.

      1. Side note... In the Year of Hell, Janeway lost her ponytail :-(. Still MY Captain. But, Darnnit!

Thank you. Very detailed. But I think you miss the point. It's never a contest. All trek captains are amazing in rhere own way. In their own right. Representing qualities... I dunno.. I wish could be part of my makeup. I simply thought Janeway had a bit more appeal with long hair. Nothing more. A meaningless, superficial preference. A passing reference. ;-)

What the hell?

How did you even do that?

In the face of the Hirogen Seven of Nine says, "Captain. You are exposing the crew to unnecessary risk." Seven, you have your orders.... That is where trust in your leader is born. The right way. The wrong way. And the Janeway. Happy Hollidays!

I liked her ponytail haircut the best, too. I also think she was the most relaxed with her crew during the time she had it. (Episodes "FUTURE'S END" to "SCIENTIFIC METHOD".)

I loved the Pony Tail Look. This was also Microcosm Janeway, when she went Riply on the Microvirus. I wasn't really a fan of the shorter hair look (Year of Hell to the end of season 4) but loved the look from Season 5 onward.

Captain Rios. Maybe his next incarnation will be as a holographic Starfleet officer? After all, Starfleet does allow Androids and exocomps to join Starfleet...
