That was beyond amazing. Kovich's words about First Contact could not have rung more true.

. . . that the 10-C (don't they have a name for their species?) intercepted Book's transporter beam, and were able to rematerialize him, none the worse for wear. What I didn't expect was that he would be the one to tell the 10-C about the mess their mining equipment leaves behind, or that his sentence would be to help refugees.

I would say that the dénouement was stretched out a bit too long, almost to the point of anticlimax.

At some point, I'm going to re-watch, with the commentary turned on.

I'm sure they do, but unless it has a meaning that refers to material objects or mathematical concepts, would we be able to translate it? If their name for themselves translates to something material -- "those who float in the atmosphere" or whatever -- then, sure, a translation could be made. But if it is essentially a particular collection of pheromones and light patterns with no direct material meaning, I doubt a translation into verbal language would be possible. Though admittedly at some point, the Federation should probably work with them to find a name that species who communicate vocally could use that they would not object to.

I bet an AI translator with the appropriate sensors will be a breeze.
