You know what? I love season 4 of Star Trek Discovery. Just watched it all again and it still felt good.

Have not changed my mind but parts of it made me think of the movie Arrival and I think that's a good thing.

Just wish they would hurry up and release a physical media release of season 5
I did a bit of a personal ranking for myself of the new series... I won't bother anyone with the details, but Discovery season 2 and 4 came out on top.

If I had to choose 20 episodes of all of Trek to introduce people to it, the last 3 episodes of season 4 would be an entry as one big tv movie.

Yeah. I just did a DISCO rewatch as well, and though I can pick a nit here and there, the Rosetta > Species 10-C > Coming Home arc is really well done.

The ones that stood out for me on rewatch were:

1. Context is For Kings, S1, E3
2. Choose Your Pain, S1, E5
3. Magic To Make The Sanest Man Go Mad, S1, E7.
4. Into the Forest I Go, S1, E9
5. New Eden, S2, E2
6. If Memory Serves, S2, E8
7. Through The Valley of Shadows, S2, E12
8. People of Earth, S3, E3
9. Forget Me Not, S3, E4
10. Die Trying, S3, E5
11. But To Connect, S4, E7
12. Rosetta, S4, E11
13. Species 10-C, S4, E12
14. Coming Home, S4, E13

If I had to expand to 20? Many more contenders than 6.

S1:
The War Without, The War Within
Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum
Despite Yourself
The Wolf Inside
Lethe
The Vulcan Hello/Battle at the Binary Stars

S2:
Brother
Point of Light
An Obol For Charon
The Sound of Thunder
The Red Angel

S3:
That Hope Is You, Part I
Unification III
Terra Firma Parts I & II

OK, I am already at 30.

AT the beginning of Season 4, it looks like Mary Wiseman has gained some weight. Compare her to a short clip under
S4.E7 ∙ ...But to Connect

you can tell the difference.

It is true Mary Wiseman has gained weight in the years since Discovery started. In other breaking news,

WIlliam Shatner
James Doohan
Jonathan Frakes
Brent Spiner
Avery Brooks
Robert Duncan McNeil

also put weight on during their time in Star Trek.

Rumor has it the original cat playing Spot was let go after refusing to drop her pregnancy weight.

I'll leave it to you to do the rounds in the other sub-forums to get everyone up to speed.

to be quite honest, I never notice any wt. gain of the above actor DURING the few to 7 seasons of the filming of their respective shows. They look the same from Season 1, episode 1 to Season ?? of the last episode

Now, they did gain wt. since, so when you watch Jonathan Frakes in Star Trek Picard for e.g.,, naturally he definitely gain some wt. since ST: TNG, but that's after 20+ yr.

Wiseman on the other hand, I just sign out the S4 of Discovery from the library, and I saw a noticeable wt. gain vs. the last season. So in short, those 6 male actors keep up their side of the image during those no. of season that they appear in the set

Having said that, she's still a good actress

Tough to narrow it down to my Top 10, but I'll give it a shot. In chronological order:

"Context Is for Kings"
"Lethe"
"Into the Forest I Go"
"Despite Yourself"
"What's Past Is Prologue"
"Perpetual Infinity"
"That Hope Is You, Part I"
"People of Earth"
"Stormy Weather"
"... But to Connect"

This is by no means a Final List.

I really liked Stormy Weather and the rest in no order for me

Perpetual Infinity
Species 10c
Coming Home
The Sound Of Thunder
If Memory Serves
An Obol For Charon

Well, in her defense, there was a pandemic between seasons where you practically couldn't leave your house. Sitting around, watching TV and eating was about all you can do.

No. They all visibly gained weight after a couple years. Compare Frakes from season one to season five. HE clearly put on some weight. Same with Spiner. They were skinny in Encounter at Farpoint compared to the middle part of TNG's run.

So what?

I'm gonna leave it here.

No, not really.

Frakes noticeably changes through TNG's seasons. I was only a casual TNG viewer and yet I could easy pick out which season based on Frakes' appearance.
