Or just drop by with uh, reports to sign. Pike isn’t the type to not invite you to dinner. And to be fair, his food looks delectable. If I served on his Enterprise I'd find every excuse possible to get invited to his cabin to share a meal.

Probably a lottery on the lower decks as to who gets to bring Pike reports at meal times."Sir, I need you to sign this."
"This is a blank screen."
"So it is. So what's today? Grilled cheese or pasta with shredded cheese?"
"YOU KNOW ME TOO WELL."
Delta shift cheats to win it. Looooong standing tradition.Probably a lottery on the lower decks as to who gets to bring Pike reports at meal times.
NOPE.I've tried.
15 mins in and the episode has failed to grab me in the way that good musicals should.
I'm not against TV shows experimenting like this, but it's a risky proposition to be sure.
The obvious comparison for me is Once More with Feeling, which I adore, and purchased the cd soundtrack as well as the dvd (despite already having the episode on the season box set), and I am prepared to give musical episodes of shows I like a fair chance, but the songs have to be better.
Buffy in the graveyard at the start of Once has charm, humour, and her character actually feels like she is singing live.
2 songs into this episode and there is no charm, the humour falls flat, and the actors are so obviously lip syncing that it just feels wrong.
The only worthwhile moment for me was Kirk interacting with Spock.
And Carol Kane is just awful.
Admittedly I missed that line of dialogue when I made that post, but I will reiterate I DONT WANT CHAPEL TO LEAVE THE SHOW! Though I suppose for the purposes of continued great story writing I can accept it, AS LONG AS SHE COMES BACK !!Wasn't the fellowship only for three months? They could easily vault that in the space of one episode. Season 3 premiere set immediately after season two finale, then ep two set three months later.
Potentially.

Discuss, or be courteous and be quiet.
I sort of understand this. I did wonder if all the cast were really singing themselves. They were all so good. There was a rawness, and the fact that SMG isn't a great singer for example really adds to it feeling 'real'.
Is Carol Kane that awful engineer who is a bit like a Ferengi who isn't?
they all sang their parts but some with a lot of intervention to fix their pitch, also it was at times obvious they were lip-syncing to previously recorded tracks, which is the only way to do this kind of stuff on a TV stuff but I guess it could have been masked better (didn’t annoy me at all but I understand if it did for some people).I sort of understand this. Are you sure it's not Riker?I am now more convinced than ever that the TOS crew is playing the new Capt Pike DLC in the rec-room. That musical finale and gauge was right out of a video game challenge.

Are you sure it's not Riker?
Or maybe Boimler with a pirated Ferengi edition?
