well... i ended up enjoying it the character moments were really good and the klingon moment was hilarious

If this wasn't Star Trek .. I wouldn't have such a problem. But throwing this in is totally out character for Star Trek, and its not what I expected or expect . Its basically the director and producer doing what they want to. Its like remaking The Godfather as a musical.

As opposed to the Robin Hood episode, the Halloween episode, the Jack the Ripper episode, or, on a more dramatic note, the time Sisko slipped into the Twilight Zone and became a 1950s sci-fi writer?

Trek gets fanciful sometimes. It always has.

But nah. This one was torture. Endless. Gets a 4 for Anson Mount's "kill me" expressions. I felt his pain. I'll file it with "I Mudd" and "A Piece of the Action." Not my thing.

Yes, and I enjoyed what little I saw of Chapel's song in the lounge because I'm pretty certain I passed out.

10/10. I've watched it twice already. I even liked it better the second time as I was able to focus more on the insightful lyrics. I love that the showrunners had the guts to attempt this episode. It worked out beautifully. Celia Rose Gooding and Christina Chong especially were excellent, and I'm glad the show gave them a chance to show off their musical talents. The rest of the cast did good as well. I liked Spock's song a lot, I think it will define a lot of his character going forward. Uhura's "Keep Us Connected" was my favorite song of the bunch, and I'm glad the episode really focused on her character. This was just magical.

Yeah..they should have done it more serious, like they did with the TNG S7 episode, Masks, I mean I can totally buy a Federation ship being turned into a stone temple in space and Data being 100% schizophrenic...oh, wait...
