I would love to see an episode performed 'live'. Maybe a tense situation set entirely on the bridge...
With all the tech and "Magic potions" through out Trek they wouldn't have to look far for a Legion of Super-HeroesPlanet of the Superheroes
well they do have the costumes.Planet rangers, with each Federation world represented by a colorful warrior.
This would be an interesting idea but they'd really have to make it a bottle episode since they couldn't show anything outside of whatever practical sets they have. They'd have to be trapped in a shuttle or something.I would love to see an episode performed 'live'. Maybe a tense situation set entirely on the bridge...
Trek's first hard-R episode. Make it extremely explicit. Make that Lower Decks "Naked Time" look like nothing. Then the next episode is just them all being awkward as fuck and trying to get back to some kind of normal. Christine is chill as fuck. Pike is near catatonic. Spock is curled up on the floor of a cupboard on deck 11. Una has ejected herself into space. How about an episode where the ENTIRE ship goes into Pon Farr because of Spatial Plomeek Tachyons and everyone is alternately killing and fucking each other?
I once had a bizarre dream they did a Korean version of Star Trek, starring a chubby Captain Sulu and they were all wearing blue versions of the Wrath of Khan uniforms.A completely impossible request would be if they handed over production to an international crew and had a non-English episode.
Like suddenly you just have a random Kdrama episode with everyone speaking Korean with all the sensibilities of Korean television. lol
Navy blue or royal blue?I once had a bizarre dream they did a Korean version of Star Trek, starring a chubby Captain Sulu and they were all wearing blue versions of the Wrath of Khan uniforms.
Would watch. But only if they use the song.It might be interesting to see the SNW Enterprise and crew get bumped back in time to the Earth/Romulan War and have to try to not change history a la "The Final Countdown".
Sam Kirk superimposed as Riker’s role as Chef, which would make for a nice reference to the idea that Shatner was supposed to play Chef, seeing how Shatner briefly played Sam Kirk in TOS.
Navy blue. They looked pretty cool. The set was Wrath of Khan Enterprise with some modern updates, but it was meant to be Excelsior.Navy blue or royal blue?
One of the most infamously expensive songs to license.Would watch. But only if they use the song.
So, it turned out the crossover-with-a-cartoon episode is only the second craziest premise this season - we will get a full on musical episode!
Now, YMMV obviously - but I have always wished for something crazy like this. I loved that TOS had a Halloween episode. I absolutely adore Stargate's 100. and 200. episode about the "Wormhole X-Treme" television show.
For me, Star Trek is not hard sci-fi. At the end of the day, it has to be emotionally honest & mature. But I dig it if it goes creatively off the rails sometime.
So, after getting the musical episode already out of the way in season 2, what other "special episodes" would you like to see?
Here are my picks, in no particular order:
- a Halloween episode (traditions!)
- a non-canon episode (set in present day, with the same actors in completely different roles, Anson Mount as a crime-noir detective solving a case, bonus points if it involves aliens)
- a "retro" episode: Using all and only the original sets, models, props & costumes from TOS, but otherwise 100% canon
- a fully animated episode
- a "short-stories" episode: 3 or 4 small, unconnected tiny plots
- a crossover episode with a completely different franchise (superhero, crime or historical show)
- A Dr. Who crossover
- A "what if?" episode
- an episode with none of the main characters appearing at all (e.g. a story involving Robert April chasing Harry Mudd)
What I DON'T want to see:
- a Christmas special - would normally be in favour, but Dr Who oversaturated that for me
- a sitcom episode with a laugh track - that's just nasty
Yes, those uniforms definitely lend themselves well to Navy blue.Navy blue. They looked pretty cool. The set was Wrath of Khan Enterprise with some modern updates, but it was meant to be Excelsior.
Beach episode. Pike in short-shorts, Spock wearing goofy sandals, Sam Kirk slathered head to toe in sunscreen, La'an's afraid of the ocean, Mudd sipping jippers on a beach but not actually involved in the plot etc...
