Spoilers What other "special episodes" do you want to see on SNW?

Seems to me Pike should be chef, since his role on the show has been largely reduced to cooking for his officers and ship's guests in S2. ;)

Then, who plays the MACO. La’an? M’Benga? Sam Kirk? Jim Kirk? Robert April?

EDIT: This whole thread is answering the question posed by that other thread: "Should the fans be allowed to write the show." The answer is clearly a resounding, thunderous NO! :guffaw:

I wouldn't say that. The range of what a special episode should consist of is quite...eclectic.

1) Another return to "The Trouble With Tribbles", in which the crew has to work incognito around the both TOS and the DS9 cast, complete with a new joke about the ever changing appearance of the Klingons.

2) Special guest: Jordan Peele as Q

3) A "The Naked Time"-style episode where, y'know... they just have naked time.

Hmm...

How about an episode set entirely in the mirror universe in which we see James Kirk assassinate Captain Pike to take command of ISS Enterprise?

Or maybe an episode that revisits "The Menagerie" and shows what other members of Pike's crew do in response to hearing Spock has kidnapped him and is on the way to Talos IV.

Like. :techman:

Perhaps they can also address the appearance of the Enterprise (exterior, interior, or both) or also say they won't discuss it (further)....

Some time-bending parallel history finale showing the devastating original continuity 1990's Eugenics Wars, the Botany Bay leaving Earth and twisted world news footage showing real political figures. Then a travel back to the 1960's that sees a Khan assassination attempt on the very first Augment test-tube experiments. A reveal shows somebody managing to steal his embryo at that point, partially undoing the damage by bringing his existence forward to later in the 21st Century.

I tend to think all that old outdated Khan backstory deserved to be shown - even if it's ultimately part of a complex plot to move it forward to become a more modern near future event. Rather than be left as a throwaway dialogue implying time has already been rewritten, before SNW characters arrived.

Galaxy Quest - with the cast playing themselves in a bizarre alternate universe where ST is a TV show. Cliché yes - immense fun no doubt!

There was a fanfic published in The New Voyages. "Voyage to a Weird Planet" I think it was called? I can see them adapting it. In it, the actors were transposed to their characters in the Trekverse and had to save the day.

A Western episode. I don't care how they do it, it'll be absolutely criminal if we don't get to see Anson Mount as a cowboy again.
That would be fun. Though something different than North Star or Spectre of the Gun. And please, no Fist Full of Datas

Yeah while I hope it's something other than "a planet that just so happens to resemble the United States west in the late 1800s" I wouldn't really care too much it that's what it was. I'm thinking it may rely on some sort of holodeck technology belonging to some more advanced race (maybe laying the groundwork for the Federation having their own.)

He already rode a horse.

Exactly. And already has a saddle, too.

Anyone who is an experienced rider naturally has his own saddle.

What if they stumble upon a planet of imitators and they had ended up with a Zane Gray novel or something and Mount has to figure it out and decides to play in to it because he knows how to ride a horse.
