Jayru (JSnaith's) 3D Trek

And now with phaser and torpedoes! (Thanks Mage) -

Orthos on the way - comments welcome, more soon!

Y'know, this almost reminds me of a refit version of TAS' Bonaventure design from "Time Trap". It used similar-looking components from its contemporary Enterprise sister ship and crunched them down.

Don't hurt me. :)
Thank you. This started life from a single image from the old comics - it was inspired by the USS Surak -

Of course the Surak was supposed to be an Oberth Class starthip, and was later depicted as such, but the artists originally were given a written description not an image to work from. As I say, it inspired me to build what I have. It was also one of the 3d files I lost in a attack on my home and pc, so I have been wanting to reclaim her and rebuild her. Which I have finally done. I'll pop some scale renders up later.

It does have its charm..
As for this design, looks very plausible, fixed some of the Oberth's issues and it's wallpaper proof. :D
Thank you! It really is an uber Oberth isn't it? LOL, I had to make it wallpaper proof - so many of the original Ingram images were misused and basterdised that I got distracted dealing with them. But I would be happy to shoot you a proper wallpaper if you like :-)

Great work on those torpedoes!! The orthos are stunning.
Thank you! Of all the ships in this thread, this one is my fav. I think because I put more of my own thoughts into it than any of the others. It feels more... "mine" than any of the others. Got a few things coming up that are going to eat my time, but I'm hoping I can do some deck plans for her (but no promises, doing the last set of deck plans was "interesting").

More soon folks :-)

YES! I knew that design looked familiar. Just couldn't place it as I haven't seen it in years. The old 80's DC comic series, right?

Looks great, I love it!
Thank You!

That's right. Only a few images exist, afterwards the ship was depicted as an Oberth Class. My take it on it is... Inspired, rather then a direct copy.

Hot damn that is some old school Star Trek ship porn right there!!
Thank you!

Excellent work as usual Jayru a great design looking forward to your next project  :techman::techman::techman::techman::techman:
Thank you! Finishing off these ships is more than enough at the moment, but who knows?

I don't suppose I could get your permission to put this on my schematics site? I normally only include canon designs these days, but every so while a fan-made design really moves me. This is one of those.

I love the underslung impulse!
Thank you!

I'm pretty sure your site is where I first came across the Ingram Class, so maybe it's fitting I contribute something back. Sure, I would be happy for the McCaffrey Class to be included :-)

Thank you very much - most kind! Don't know when I'll do the next update, but they're definitely in the queue for the next one.

Thank you!

I've found a small bug with the McCaffrey Class, in that the windows don't line up properly. It looks like I was out by half a degree when I cut them in. The saucer it's self is also slightly out. Now, it's good enough for government work, and no one else has noticed it (lol). So I could just leave well enough alone. But I am a perfectionist, so I may well be looking at fixing this all. Not sure how I knocked things out of alignment, but it is bugging me. Looks like I knocked it out of alignment quite early on, and I don't have those saves any more. But I've become a dab hand at rebuilding things.

So...

Basically, watch this space. I'm not quite done with her yet.

More later!
