Astra's ENT action figures in action

That is a very snazzy look!

Ditto it looks really good.

Right? I particularly love the one with just in shirt and hands in pockets.

But he looks just as good without any clothes ;) I already did Jon and Porthos on Risa with the small figures, but now he can be properly bare-chested.

Must be a boring book...

I didn't have a beach bar so I just took the bar that I once had customized from a box of miniature whiskeys and added this paper umbrella that the neighbours left in the staircase (where we leave things others might have use for).

A little outtake after a comment I got:

Time to go home now.

Bye beach!

Love the flip-flops! And both of them falling asleep! This makes me almost think summer looks fun… :)

Amazing detail and creativity. You really have mastered the art of looking at a thing and seeing what else it could be. :techman: And you have very cool neighbors.
My fave tableau is also Jon and Porthos falling asleep on the beach together. :adore:
Bakula had such a buff physique, but we didn't see it enough! Ah, that scene in "Storm Front"...

Headless Uniform Archer could be something for Halloween, maybe... :cardie:

The flip-flops are a set of erasers! There are lots of cute erasors that I've collected. Here are two more close-up pictures for you. They even leave an imprint in the sand!

Some of them like to leave expired yoghurt, that should be in the fridge and not for days in a staircase but what do I know... But yeah, I have found some useful stuff there. I'll post another story in a minute where there's also something from the staircase.

I looked but apparently while I posted some other customs I have not yet shared how I made the bar. That was very easy. My co-worker brought me this box with an interesting shape, thinking I may have use for it. I have trained him well! I looked and immediately saw a bar.

Later I also added a shelf with bottles. I had found these rows of bottles in the local newspaper and I cut them all out by hand and glued them onto the mirror foil. Looks 3D but is only a flat background!

I was surprised anybody could tear their eyes off long enough off Jon to notice the sleeping Porthos ;)

We didn't? I feel they did find plenty of excuses to get him shirtless. Not that I'm complaining though ;)
It's funny though, my friend who tried to get me to watch thought she could lure me in with telling about all the shirtless men chests... but I did not want to be that shallow to watch for that reason alone.

The reason why I finally started to watch was that I read Jon also gets whumped a lot, and well, I am a whumper I must admit... ahem.

Headless Uniform Archer could be something for Halloween, maybe... :cardie:
Yes! Already on the list! Especially once I noticed that I also can take Porthos' head off, so it will be headless Archer and his headless dog! I can't wait LOL

And here is the new story with the other neighbour thing.
A friend on Twitter asked me to do the bat chasing scene from "A Night in sickbay". I already had a bat and I purchased a dip net. Then I set up the sickbay with things I had on hand.

If you go back in this thread you'll find that I did a similar picture once before, but back then I only had a standing Porthos. I paid 80 USD for this sleeping one. The scene is so much better with it!

The thing with the purple dot is what the neighbours left. I don't even know what this originally is but I always have use for everything!

Red dots are things we were getting at work - I work in an engineer's office so these are samples of building materials. They were throwing them away so I grabbed them. I love especially the plexiglass things.

Yellow dot is a normal shelf from a book shelf and green dot is the plastic tray from Walkers Toffees.

Archer probably passed out on the beach like that trying to read T'Pol's complete works or Surak or whatever it was.

What a neat bit of trompe l'oeil! The bottles really do look 3D!

Oh, I learnt a new term today, I've never heard that!

Archer probably passed out on the beach like that trying to read T'Pol's complete works or Surak or whatever it was.

Really! What kind of holiday reading is that?!?

There was one bit I had forgotten and a friend reminded me, that it is important to wear sunglasses at the beach!

And then last Saturday I woke up in the morning with this idea. Don't ask where they are coming from!

I made the mirror from an oval piece of glass I had (probably from a picture frame) and some self-adhesive mirror-foil. I love when I just can go to my stash and not have to wait for the craft shop to open!

I love these new scenes Astra. With Archer and Porthos at the beach scene was fun and the scene with the bat in Sickbay was cute. The one with Archer with Kirk is so clever. This made my day. Thanks so much for posting them.

I am always happy if I can make your day! I am bringing new gifts for you!

The first story was a birthday gift for my friend who goes by the name "Sugarcookies" on Twitter. So this was obvious!

And another friend hadn't realized that I now also have a small sleeping Porthos and thought it was the big one that I usually use with 12" figures. So this idea came to mind:

This adorable thanks for sharing this with us!:adore::luvlove::biggrin::beer::bolian:

Oh my goodness! Your friend sugar cookies must have been delighted! That’s adorable!

She was! Thank you both!

I've been busy with customizing again! I got another Casey Jones and made Jon in his free time.

Originally I had wanted to do Jon with naked chest and in pyjama pants, from this scene:

But that would have been too much trouble. After I cut the shirt away it looked like this.
Would have needed a lot of nip/tuck. So I painted the shirt blue and put it back on.

The feet came from Graduation Day Angel. Again the plugs did not fit together so I cut both and glued it. Which means losing the articulation. I could have formed naked feet again with Milliput. I once did when I made David Tennant as Hamlet but that was such a hassle, never again!

Here they are for comparison:

Jonathan Archer and Dwayne Pride, friends for life!

Blue tank tops do seem very evocative of Enterprise. They’re traditional! :)
LOL yes it does! He really does look good in blue. I have no complaints.

Astra that's really neat how you change your action figures.:):bolian:
Thank you!

Back to 12" figures - Shran has arrived!

And I couldn't help re-creating that fight scene. The weapons and armbands were included in the box with Shran, the chain was not, I added this myself to give it a bit more realism.

Getting the armbands on wasn't easy, hope I'll be able to get them off again!

Little behind the scenes: Shran was not able to kneel properly, he always keeled over. So I had to put a weight on his feet to keep him stable.

Which part of "Don't try and block with this" did Archer not understand?

Nooooo! Not the bum!

The chain definitely adds to the scene, nicely crafted!

Now I need to know though, were you able to get the armbands back off?

Nice work Astra how long does it take to do these scenes and photograph them?

About two-three hours for this one perhaps? I started after lunch, about 2 PM and was finished by 5 PM. But at first I took a long time to add the armbands. Afterwards it also takes an hour or two to look through the pictures and chose the best ones, add speech bubbles etc. (not in this case)

Now I need to know though, we’re you able to get the armbands back off?

Yes I was, thanks for asking! Off was easier than on, as you just have to pull the hand off and then the rest followed. Putting them on, the difficulty was that they did not fit over the hand. So first I had to take the hand off, put the armband on, and then the hand back on.

But with the armband in the way, I could not push hard enough and so the hand always kept falling off. I finally boiled some water, put it in to make the plastic softer, then it worked better.

I also was afraid the black rubber band of the armbands would snap off if I pushed too hard (had difficulty getting it over Jon's cuff) but they must have used a very sturdy glue, no complaints there!

Here you can see it:

Today Jon and I went hiking together!
