News Star Trek Prodigy Cancelled, Season 2 to be shopped around

I’ve been talking to my father about doing a cruise that includes Spain. I want to go there, London and France and I’ve never done a cruise.
Cool, I have a song for you in case you do go on that cruise:

I see a lot of complaints about Prodigy being shown in chunks. This is partly due to making it a 20 episode season was done after the fact. The initial order was 2 10 episode seasons, similar to LD. Then for some strange reason they decided to call it one season and show each half a year apart. But the benefit was that second season was also ordered as 20 episodes. So Prodigy basically got 4 seasons which is not bad.

And I agree with the article posted above. Paramount will likely not get great offers and will end up showing it on Nickelodeon eventually.

I think it's a hard sell. Children have their own interests (and this is rarely Star Trek, I fear, or even similar programming) and for others the "for children" moniker, animation and Star Trek label may be negatives.

I'm in Florida (Ground Zero for Ron DeSantis and his book bans).

"Age-appropriate" is often a code word for "pedantic garbage."

As for the revenge story, I think it is a great underlying plot for the series. It's tied to the entire premise (without it, Gwyn wouldn't have the very specific relation she has with the other characters), gives the series a canvas wherein they can learn about the Federation and its principles and use them in practice, even at cost to themselves.

I saw Gwyn as Prodigy's answer to Seven of Nine (a villain who becomes a hero).

i don’t think this is correct: among like maybe 20 ferengi we saw on DS9 we got two extremely good business women, this is like a 10%,

The point was, they couldn't produce an alternative female when Ishka was incapacitated.

If the society wasn’t ready for it there would have been riots, the fact that the magus could pass those reforms proves that things had been boiling under the surface already.

And there was no sign of any of this in any prior episode. In the US, Susan B. Anthony and her crew were busy from 1866 to 1920, and that was just for the right to vote and hold office.

Just like when Theodosius made Christianity the official religion of the Roman Empire, something that would have been unthinkable a couple of generations earlier.

Indeed, but this only happened after the Church endured decades of ostracism, persecution, and frequent martyrdom.

I doubt that’s what happened. Just like when the US abolished slavery the situation improved, but the road to true equality was (and still is) still long and bumpy.

Again, not what happened. In the wake of female equality, Zek introduced taxation, welfare, universal health care, and an end to the Nagus's autocracy. Ferenginar was practically Federation 2.0!

Apple's content library can't compete with rivals. If they're in this for the long haul, you could imagine acquisitions will follow. Who knows? Perhaps they're content to wait it out while as their competitors overextend and scoop up some established IPs at a discount.

Oh, and a DS9 remaster? Super easy. Barely an inconvenience.

Anson Mount is onboard. :)
