Game New game: Star Trek Infinite

This looks pretty exciting. I loved Armada, and strategy games have always been my favourite genre. It's such an obvious fit for Star Trek.

Starting in the pre-TNG era is pretty cool. We know there was a Cardassian-Federation war, a Klingon-Romulan conflict and and Klingon-Cardassian "incident" in that time.

I imagine the Borg will be periodic threats during the game, getting stronger as the player progresses.

Obvious scope for DLC or expansions with the Dominion, or Delta Quadrant. And it could run into the current Picard era too.

Just to be precise, that's not Taris, that's Toreth.

The uniform style is 100% the style of uniform that Taris wore, not Toreth.

Taris: Two gray tones in one square. No checkerboard pattern.
Toreth: Checkerboard pattern with alternating gray and bronze colors.

There’s a Star Trek Stellaris mod if that’s what you’re after.

The game does look quite similar to Stellaris, and the video was uploaded by Paradox, the studio that made that game. It was a legitimate thing to ask.

Uniforme yes, but the face? Compare with this:

Or they just used a screen cap of Toreth's head because she was looking in the direction they wanted and couldn't find a good one of Taris. Also they're both played by the same actress.

Toreth: Checkerboard pattern with alternating gray and bronze colors.
The Romulan emblem is also missing from her chest piece, Toreth's uniform has the Romulan emblem.

Is it good? I didn't like the game Stellaris
I mean it's a mod for stellaris, so if you didn't like Stellaris you'd probably not like the mod. Depending on what you didn't like about it.

I never played stellaris. But if the new game is anything like this I could see myself playing for hours

I had a look at the console version of Sellaris, but I struggled to get my head around it a bit like I did playing a console version of The Sims. The kind of game that was made for a PC. ;)

I only have a laptop for mozying on the internet and bills, but I really want this game!

I love that it's set pre-TNG and reminds me faintly of Birth of the Federation, which I lost far too many hours to.

Interesting. I agree with some Redditors this looks like a Stellaris offshoot, but we'll see, I guess.

I found this video - there is also another company that is involved as well. I think there will be more information on Friday. NGE made 2016 version of Master of Orion.

Well, that answers that not-really-in-question:

Steam Page said:
Star Trek: Infinite is built upon the core systems of Stellaris, leveraging the deep and complex system and making them its own. Aspects of these systems have been streamlined and simplified to better resonate with the Star Trek franchise.

I've never played it, but I did recognize the species description screen in the trailer from memes.
