Well the Enterprise G certainly won’t be. No one will take that ship seriously.

They are usually classed as heavy cruisers.
Just the “the Enterprise needs to be an Ofyssey or a Galaxy-X because *reasons*” smacks of the enterprise always having to be the biggest, fastest, toughest, most clever ship ever.

- The hand brake turn. In my head I heard Jeremy Clarkson say "We've just made strong pornography."

- Those closing moments with the entire TNG cast. Yes, it was a bit or an AGT rip off but I enjoyed the contrast between how uptight that scene felt in the original with how it was portrayed now. There's your character growth Stewart. Next time put your ego and personal politics aside and embrace what made you a star in the first place.

- Trying to set up a new spin-off. Let the work stand on it's own. You did good Terry.
- Trying to make Raffi fit in. Give it up. Her character is as ridiculous and ill-advised as the (thankfully) aborted romance with the heretofore heterosexual Seven of Nine.
- I never thought I'd say this, but... Q. Let the dead rest. Let the past remain the past.

It was a satisfying end to TNG, much more than we got with Nemesis (blech). This was always the end goal. It worked to the detriment of a typical season of a television series as we commonly understand it, but it was a great way to end an era of the franchise. I am excited for what could come next.

Well I liked this one a lot more than last week. A solid 8 I think. The character work here was excellent I thought. It got a little too fan fiction in some areas for me and they played it way safer than I would have liked, but it came together in about the best way it could have. The Chekov appearance was nice.
I can't help though and feel like Tuvok was written with Janeway in mind but when they couldn't get her, they used him instead. The end was very predictable but it did get me. I still think Jack is kind of a cypher though, despite the actor being good. Not counting Alexander, Jack is my least favorite of the TNG kids we've seen across the three seasons. I guess they were implying Beverly and Picard are together in the time jump. I'm not wild about that at all. Riker and Deanna and their relationship was really great this episode. Honestly thought them and Worf were the MVPs. Glad they didn't make a joke about her flying skills when she took the conn.
If this is truly the end of TNG and this cast, then overall I'm satisfied. I feel like we left them all in a good place. They're all happy. They've got each other again. I'm fine with that. Happy with where Seven ended up as well.
Some nitpicks though. Running though the episodes again, I realized she got mentioned a lot more than I thought but still a little odd they just totally blanked on tossing out a Kestra mention in the last two episodes. I wonder if some of that is not wanting to commit to anything in the very slim case of a spinoff or something down the line since that's a character they'd probably want to use. Same with Elnor. After all that in season two, you'd think Raffi and Seven would want him on the ship with them or mention him. My big one however is whatever happened to Laris? Is she still waiting at that bar for Picard?
Rolled my eyes at the ship thing but whatever. Q got a big sigh too.

One other thing from me is that I think a nice full circle moment would have been if during the one year later Enterprise D shut down sequence scene Picard and Geordi hung up Picard room painting of the ship as mentioned in episode 1. Though I guess they didn't have a set for it built.
Yes it was. The Ent-D was a true hero ship in this episode.
Those Instagram reports state it was some computer issue that caused it to have an early decommission. Does sound like it could have been sabotage.There wasn't really any reason for the F to be decommissioned

The notion of being "the flagship of the Federation" was already silly. They all flew the flag, they were all flagships. Fewer were capital ships. Conversely, fewer admirals controlled fleets, within which one ship could be designated a flagship.

It's still in service. Just rechristened to USS Mekong, after the noble runabout.
To be fair, back then there was no A,B,C,D back then and the Enterprise was getting old.
