I know that. But he's a walking time machine. He can keep coming back indefinitely as long as he ends up in 2024 at some point in his own personal future. Effectively, from our point of view, he is still alive.

Because this season was about fixing stupid shit and resolving dangling threats that had happened to TNG/DS9/Voyager.

And that includes stuff like the crap death of Q last season, and the depression-gunmetal grey combadges, finally fixed to their proper colors. Matalas and co. clearly assembled a list of all the bad ideas and unfinished stuff that has happened to the prime timeline and systematically worked down it.

They're actual writing heroes.

Why was it necessary to attack Spacedock? Surely there must be Borg drones there too. And whatever happened to quantum torpedoes?

I think only the networked fleet was affected. Spacedock wasn’t a part of that and hence the younglings were not assimilated

Doesn't that cheapen season 2 having Q appear again? Maybe they figured the fans wouldn't care because that season wasn't popular.

It does. But killing Q was a dumb gimmick by Akiva Goldsman who needed Matalas to bail him out in Season 2.

Now on his own, Matalas undid it.But really, you have to be a completionist to watch Season 1 and 2. They're side stories. Season 3 is TNG Season 8, per the writers intent, and that is the only thing that matters.

I hope that they release a feature length cut of Episodes 9 and 10 together as "Star Trek XI: The Last Generation", and continue the roman numeral prime universe trek movies as P+ films in such a fashion.

Makes sense. Q is not dead. He is dying. That process can take centuries from our human perspective.

Not really. The season two storyline was cheap to begin with.

I've seen every episode of TNG probably dozens of times in reruns, own the DVDs and the Blurays, and rewatched it on Netflix... I should be the perfect target for this, but for some reason I'm not.

Because it's one thing to see a band you love, and another thing for them to play almost nothing new.

Not really. There have always been some major differences since the start of Picard. I think most people understand.

I thought it was fitting that Tuvok was the one that promoted her. Janeway would been better but Tuvok was still a good choice.

Season 3 was written before season 2 aired, and finished filming the same month season 2 started. DeLacie also said he filmed something for season 3 during season 2.
