Welcome to the grading and discussion thread for our first Star Trek series finale in 18 years. You could say that TNG is coming to a conclusion once again, 29 years later. Is it a sad occasion? Let's see… We've got the biggest threat the Federation has ever faced. That line is a cliché, but this time it rings true. We've got our crew back together in a way that's probably the epitome of fan service and most likely impossible to top. And finally, I'm sure we can expect a few more surprises as well. In the end, we're getting one hell of a ride and arguably the most fitting of farewells. And above all, Trek will live on. A sad occasion? It's up to you to decide. But just remember, Picard & The Crew are going out strong, and as they say, all good things…

So, what have we got in store?

"In a desperate last stand, Jean-Luc Picard and generations of crews both old and new fight together to save the galaxy from the greatest threat they’ve ever faced as the saga of Star Trek: The Next Generation comes to a thrilling, epic conclusion." - TrekMovie.com

Thank god this thread is up now - it's been hard talking about some of the spoilers flying around without ruining it for everyone in the other threads!

Based on the two sneak peaks I'm excited, though there's one alleged spoiler I've heard that makes me a little "eh" - but overall, looks like a lot to cover in 60 minutes!

I look forward to seeing the F destroy the D. :)
They better have a showdown. It’s a shame it isn’t the E since that would be more affective. I always thought in seasons one or two the E would show up as an antagonist to Picard.

BIG FAT WARNING to anyone who actually bothers to look at the earlier posts before they jump in--the theatrical release tonight means that earlier than normal discussion of the episode by those who've seen it is FAIR GAME. No bitching, no whining.

IMAX showings on the west coast start at 1815 pacific. Assuming they show ep9 straight away then people would start discussing 10 a good 4 to 5 hours prior to streaming release. Should be fun here tonight.
