So was the floating head the Queen? I don't see her saying the things it said. Doesn't seem her style
If it were Alice reciting those lines, it would be easier to reconcile for you. A lot of it comes down to delivery.

Matalas said he’s dead.

Of course future projects might decide to resuscitate him. I actually liked his character, it was a fresh take on the captain.
Agreed. He was a different type of Captain, one that could certainly be successful. I kind of wish they hadn't killed him, but as you say, he could be brought back.

What wins on how it "really" looks? The limitations of TV show budgets or limitless artistic license in a drawing?

I could point out TOS Klingons before TMP and after fits under his but DS9 had to screw it up by drawing attention to it. They could have just done/said nothing. Have Worf appear in the 23c settings looking like a TOS Klingon and "himself" in the DS9 sets. Just leave it alone, Klingons always looked like this they just didn't in TOS because they couldn't.

I make the same argument for Tellarites theyhave hooves they just don't when we see them because TV budgets are restricted.
TOS Worf would have been fun

Worf is still Worf. He just developed as a person. He claims to be more passivistic, but he'll still fight and kill when necessary: despite his claim to the contrary.
Actually, that just makes it more humerous, but not intentionally so.

Shades of ‘I never lie’ Spock. Worf isn’t getting any deep story this season, but he had a lot of that prior — he’s spent years as the straight man to some extent, so this extension of his more deadpan comedy in TNG and DS9 really works.
Of course, now Bashir and O’Brien will have to switch to ‘Do you smell Chamomile?’ Or at least peppermint to keep it in the tea family.

Does it? it seems like the logical development for him. We know in TNG he was always 'violence or destruction as the answer' first. To the point he was nothing but a comedic foil who's opinions were constantly discarded. During his career on DS9 he was more of a rounded officer character and usual commander of the Defiant. He was always quietly working on himself at that point to become a better person.

So add another 20 years of that, and not quite understanding time and place, and we get Mall Guru Worf. With far more elegant fighting moves and swordartistry.

Nope. Probably dead.
I doubt they are going to kill any of the main characters. The only one that I can imagine them killing off would be Raffi and I seriously doubt they will, the TNG cast, 7 and the three kids are pretty much untouchable.

I don’t see a problem with him joining Starfleet if he wants, as he had clearly been manipulated by the Borg, but I don’t think he really is that interested.

A few days ago Frakes said none of the tng crew would die. Time will tell if he was kidding or not. I don't think he was kidding.

I’m slowly i
One question that has been constantly in the back of my mind throughout this season.... Has this show brought on any new fans? I don't think it has.

Yes, a show should definitely appeal to its long time fans, but it should also work to bring in new ones. The obvious nostalgia bait of the cast, the villains, the Enterprise-D, are all clearly a big deal to fans. But, imagine you have never seen a single episode of TNG, or any Trek for that matter. Is there anything in this show to appeal to the audience at large?

Discovery certainly made efforts to grab new audience members. Prodigy is almost entirely based on getting new and younger fans into the franchise. Even Lower Decks has some broad appeal with its humour. Strange New Worlds definitely makes an effort to get new fans on board, but Picard..... I don't think so.

And maybe that's fine for THIS show. But so many people are throwing around the idea that they want "this" to be the blueprint for the franchise going forward, and I cannot disagree more.

To copy this would do nothing but stagnate the franchise. We need new fans because we're not getting any younger. To appeal only to Trekkies will be a surefire way of killing this franchise.

With 9 out of 10 episodes outta the way, I think I can safely say that "More Terry" and his plans for a "Star Trek Legacy" series are exactly what this franchise doesn't need.

I’m slowly indoctrinating my daughter via prodigy. She’s digging it so far. I’m also showing her pictures and videos of the “real” people (ex. Janeway etc.) to get her more interested. She likes Okana

I also see it as Worf going through a second period in his life of not knowing what he wanted to be. After the Enterprise was destroyed he felt unmoored, finally finding a new home on DS9. When that ended he became ambassador to Qo'noS, but we know that did not work out. I imagine that was when he started thinking hard about what was next for him.

I don’t trust these new accounts. They’ll be affected soon enough
I’m new here but not new to ST. My first episode when I was 15 and watched the BoBW with my father. Of course I didn’t realize it would be a cliffhanger . Got me hooked. I used to be on The Great Link forum back in the day but I wanted to keep up to date with PIC season 3.
