Yes, it is. It is your opinion. There is no objective definition of hacks that can be utilized.
By all means own your opinion.
So where do you take the franchise then?
For whom? Embarrassing implies a measure of shame but not everyone experiences it the same. Are you embarrassed by this? If so, why, as you have no responsibility with how this show was made?
Please. One person is not responsible nor is Trek destroyed. I love a good hyperbole more than anyone but the rumors of Trek's destruction are long overblown and ridiculous in their prognostication.Even though I didn't pay for this log specifically, I paid to see Generations and First Contact in theaters, so I feel a little complicit in the destruction of Star Trek. I should have never supported it as long as I did.

Also, them cracking jokes on the bridge while everyone over 25 in Starfleet was being killed and everyone younger had been assimilated just felt flat. This scene would have worked better if they went to the Enterprise before the Borg's plan was implemented IMO.
I they mention the kids right away —this is more professional compartmentalising as we have seen from these exact crew members time and again. Wailing and crying won’t get the kids back, so for now they are just doing what they do. They might spend a few minutes allowing themselves a positive, but they aren’t dragging their feet and weeping in their quarters for an hour — they’re breaking out the old ship, and attempting to get stuff done.
Same as when Picard was assimilated, or when Geordi’s mother was lost with her ship, or when, or when, or when… TNG is full of personal stakes stories, and every time they went at it *mostly* calm until the problem was solved.
Science the shit out of it, as someone else once said.
Yes it is.That isn't a new concept.
You have not shown the standard as objective. Only subjective, as is the nature of art.
Any opinion around heart that claims objectiveness I will dismiss since the experience of art is subjective.
gonna rewatch after work with a clear-non groggy head. But I will say it does feel like the only reason Shaw died was just to set up Seven as Captain if “Legacy” does become a thing. And I think that’s kinda crappy.
gotta think they didn’t expect Shaw to become a fan fav or it wouldn’t have played out that way.
Bullshit. He wasn’t embarrassed. He loves Star Trek. It was a connection he had to his late father. Just following his Instagram during the airing of Season 1 would shows just how much he loved trek.
He wrote entire world building backstories for that season.
You’re writing slander.
Uh no actually it doesn't fit at all. There's nothing "genetic" about a red door. It's just poorly constructed trash.
It was expected. Matalas said something early on about Shaw starting off unlikable, but how Matalas hoped he'd be a fan favorite by the end of the season.

I mean she would have been captain no matter how Shaw died. Chain of command and all that. It’s just to do it in order to make Seven the Captain feels…eh…
Why would Starfleet, particularly led by Elizabeth Shelby (RIP, I guess…), a renowned expert on the Borg, allow for something so collective- like into their fleet?
