The irony of that statement is absolutely delicious given the over-the-top weeping and gnashing of teeth any time someone dares say they don't watch STD because of the liberal propaganda that is most certainly intended.

Or maybe we're just over-thinking a simple, nostalgic, sci-fi themed drama and using our own ideological proclivities to give meaning where nothing special was really intended.
To everyone: if you want to talk modern politics take it to another forum.

The hilarity of people thinking there’s some pro right wing agenda in this 25 year olds being vulnerable thing is hilariously off base

it’s a plot point to provide tension and motivation to save the actual next generation, not critique them.

Exactly, some people seem to get a little too sensitive rather easily these days.

With the Galaxy class, because of its importance, this was a particularly laborious process (Trekyards went into it) because of how many versions of the model there has been over the years, and sometimes conflicting details of the physical motion control models from the 1990s. What is "right" when the original models don't all agree?

Long story short, there is a couple VERY high fidelity public-sector model that's seen many years of revisions, and there is the Eaglemoss Galaxy class CG model, which might as well be the "modern gold master" of the design from a CG perspective given the work that's been put into it and how it can trace its direct heritage to the Generations mode. The Picard Season 1 CG model had no heritage it was brand new.

Whichever CG model was used for 309 most closely resembled the 6 footer that was built by ILM.

Doesn't matter any longer I guess, given this episode seems to infer that...everyone over 25 in Starfleet is now dead? Or at least anyone onboard a ship?

This is such a WTF moment for me I don't know what to say. Even when Picard & company defeat this, you're talking about a complete decapitation of the entire officer corps.

Yes. Unless, deus ex machina.

I think he is joking that the original tweet should be marked. For viewers who haven’t started yet.
(Including people in the Uk who haven’t seen this episode yet, and unlike me didn’t dive into spoilers straight away… I haven’t seen it yet. It’s not here for me to see yet.)

Hard to tell these days. Weekly it seems like someone in a spoiler thread complaining about getting spoiled. :brickwall:

Here's an existential question...if you gave Matalas a blank slate, new ship, new characters, new storyline would he be as successful? He has a lot of things to hide behind in this series, old characters, jokes, ships. Yes I enjoyed it, anyone who was a fan would but...maybe thats a question for another day and another series.

it’s a good question. And it reminds me that when he joined season 2 hes said he pitched the time travel story because he wanted to see the voyage home with the TNG crew

On the other hand a Borg plan to hurt Starfleet and the Federation seems to be working, at least initially. This has the potential to be at least as deadly as the Battle of Sector 001 in FC.

I'm starting to think yes, yes he could. I'm not ready to deify the man but he's told a story I'm enjoying so far. Overused tropes and all.

I suspect some time travel shenanigans in the last episode because by the time they reach Earth it's probably gone/assimilated. Maybe they'll find a way to return half an hour earlier lol...and perhaps get Shaw in the process.

Oh a million times worse! With those ships in orbid they could obliterate the population of Earth no problem.

Matalas confirmed on Twitter that the face Vadic was taking orders from was the borg queen.

I think this should have had a spoiler tag.

Why? It's obviously not going to be referenced in the series itself, or else the showrunner wouldn't need to go on Twitter to tie up the plot holes he left open.

Like when he had to confirm that Vadic and her crew were all Changelings, which actually isn't explicitly revealed until much later.

And I keep repeating myself but for gods sake what an opportunity to use ALL THREE ships in the finale, Ent D, Voyager AND Defiant. The old-school ships together and probably for the final time on screen

the borg do have time travel tech after all

HANGER BAY 12!

Seems like this is the first series I have ever seen that keeps getting better and better - While it's ending.

Wow..............just WOW!!!

Majel Barrett!!
