I agree.Ms. Marvel was the best Phase 4 project and this is the best teaser trailer they've done in a long time.![]()
It's never list time.Sounds to me like it's list time.
I am surprised Loki is so far down your list.Sounds to me like it's list time. So I took myself off to my nearest preference revealer, which showed me my ranking of Phase 4 goes:
1. Spider-Man: No Way Home
2. Hawkeye
3. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
4. Ms. Marvel
5. Wandavision
6. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
7. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier
8. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
9. She-Hulk: Attorney at Law
10. Black Widow
11. Moon Knight
12. Loki
13. What if..?
14. Thor: Love and Thunder
15. Eternals
The ones I know though the prtrayal of the "terrorists" was a big part of the problem - lazily going pure evil at the end.
Not a common assessment amongst those I know. It's viewed as being one of the worst.
And in fairness, I haven't seen the last Spidey movie yet.
Position doesn’t necessarily suggest I didn’t enjoy it. I enjoyed everything there. The only thing I didn’t know at the start of the revealer was where everything would land. Except Eternals and Thor. I knew where they’d end up.I am surprised Loki is so far down your list.
It’s always list time somewhereIt's never list time.
It's pretty hard to name a real "winner" out of Phase 4 since it's been such a weirdly mixed bag. So far the only movie out of the bunch I've wanted to watch more than once is 'No Way Home' (though I intend to circle back to 'The Eternals' at some point), and the shows I enjoyed the most were 'Black Widow', 'Wandavision', 'Loki', 'Hawkeye' & 'She-Hulk'. Honourable mention for 'Ms Marvel' since I *really* like the beginning and end of the season. The middle though; not so much.
Just to be clear, it was *good* (if uneven at times) but most of it felt all over the place. For me the nadir was 'Multiverse of Madness' (which reminded me why I haven't re-watched Spider-Man 3 since 2007) and 'Love and Thunder' while had some great stuff in it, but the tone was constantly working against itself and I found it increasingly grating.
F&tWS sits somewhere in the middle for me since while it also had some tonal issues, it's main problem seemed to be a lack of focus. It didn't really know what it wanted to be about, or it did but didn't fully commit to it.
'Moon Knight' started strong but kinda lost me somewhere along the way and I'm not sure why, but here we are. 'What If . . . ' was just OK. The only segment that really stuck with me was the Dr Strange one, which ironically I liked better than the actual sequel movie.
'Shang Chi'; I loved everything about it (especially Morris) but I can't deny that I have to actively remind myself that it's a movie that exists. Maybe it'll stick more after the second one? We'll see. As for 'Wakanda Forever' . . . I'm not sure I've fully processed that one. I'll have to give it a second viewing at some point, but overall it was another mixed bag for me.
Does anyone ever actually bother reading anyone else's list? I know I don't.It's never list time.
I'd broadly agree that the shows were on the whole more entertaining than the movies. But on the other hand they have the advantage of there being just more of them. Seven movies vs. nine (!) shows, each of which with a total runtime equal to at least four or five movies. That's a massive disparity, so rule of averages alone clearly favours the shows leaving a better overall impression. A show can afford to have a few lacklustre episodes, while movies are kind of all or nothing affairs.I feel like Phase 4 TV on Disney Plus was actually better than the movies overall. There were big glaring flaws in several Phase 4 movies, whereas I felt like other than the sheer uselessness of What If...? each of the shows pretty much met expectations (even if I'm really disappointed in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier for writing 5/6ths of a good political arc then chickening out).
Nah, have zero issues with Sam getting the gig.I've only heard the series described as one of--or the worst by those fueled by open racism, despising the fact Sam (instead of unqualified Bucky) became the American symbol, the commentary the Bradley subplot made about the Marvel world and Sam was not afraid to speak to the legacy of his people. Their view is as irrelevant as their dreams of an all-white MCU.
I do. And I was asked a question about mine so evidence says it’s not universal that they’re ignoredDoes anyone ever actually bother reading anyone else's list?
Black Widow was... not a show.
I feel like its high point was when Walker killed the guy with his shield. I thought it was kind of neat that the Wakandans could deactivate Bucky's arm. On the other hand there was the unnecessary rabid wokeness. "Oh hey, I know you, you're an Avenger, I love you guys! But no loan for you, because you're black." I mean, really? I confess that I only watched three of the shows but this was the one I enjoyed the least. Sam being CA was not a problem, because that was established as a thing by Endgame. Not a common assessment amongst those I know. It's viewed as being one of the worst.
The Chronicles of Trevor Slattery continue and all is right in the world."Wonder Man" has already started shooting, which seems a bit odd when you consider it probably won't air until 2025 given the recent slowdown in releases. No sign of Yahya Abdul-Mateen but Britain's greatest living thespian is back. (And I don't mean Ben Kingsley.)

Good to read especially since there's an interview with Morena Baccarin just a few days ago where she expressed her uncertainty about whether she would return or not (but wanted to).More Deadpool returnees:
