Spoilers Marvel Cinematic Universe spoiler-heavy speculation thread

What grade would you give the Marvel Cinematic Universe? (Ever-Changing Question)

I understand a 45 minute scene involving Thanos was cut…I would have liked to have seen that.

Okay, that sounds like muddled reporting to me. 45 minutes wouldn't be a scene, it'd be a whole extended sequence, maybe a whole act. I think it's more likely that the initial rough cut had 45 minutes overall that were deleted (quite common in filmmaking, because the initial cut puts in everything so the editor has a range of options to choose from) and some of it consisted of that Thanos sequence.

Apparently the film was going to open with a sequence (I seriously doubt it would have been 45 minutes, else they'd have brought back the One Shot for it) of how Thanos decimated Xandar and got the Power Stone.

Yeah, there's no way it was a 45-minute scene, no matter the content, even as to background Thanos. At best, it would be 45 minutes of raw footage.

Or, as you said, misheard four to five minutes.

So basically Guilty until proven innocent.
I mean it's certainly possible they investigated and found out things. As long as they don't attempt to get out of any financial obligations to Majors they're not required to wait for a jury verdict to prove anything.

Two different pieces of news.

First up, James Gunn talked with Empire about Vol. 3 and the conclusion of the article stands out to me:

“It is a trilogy,” says Gunn of the bigger picture. “The first movie is about the mother, the second movie is about the father and the third movie is about the self. That is the overall story.” Get ready: the final chapter is about to unfold.
Secondly, Vincent d'Onofrio tweeted his excitement about Daredevil: Born Again:

So very excited about Daredevil: Born Again. Such an incredible cast and crew. Just finished a big scene yesterday and it was so intense and wonderful working with two of the other cast members. Wow. We all have a lot to look forward to. We meaning, you too.

Some more news but more on the speculative side:

Ryan Reynolds talked to ET Canada about how he finally was able to convince Hugh Jackman to return as Wolverine:

“What we pitched him was enough of a divergence from the character that he knows and the character that he’s left behind, that it gives him something completely new to play and something that he’s really excited to do.”
Based on that and based on what Jackman as said in the past that his return doesn't mess with Logan thanks to the multiverse, chances are it's not the XCU's Wolverine we've known and love, but a (potentially very) different version of the character. Not really a surprise considering he'll be in a Deadpool movie but it's still good to see more confirmation that we're getting some fresh and new with Wolverine.

Secondly, perhaps revealing more than she was suppose to, Patti LuPone talked about her role and the roles of others in Agatha: Coven of Chaos during an appearance on The View:

Speaking on The View, the actor/singer announced—likely without Marvel Studios’ permission—she would be playing Lilia Calderu, an obscure comics character who is “a 450-year-old Sicilian witch whose power is divination and whose trial is tarot.” But she also gave a hint as to who her co-stars would be playing:

“It’s a coven of witches, and I play Lilia Calderu, who apparently is in the Marvel world. I researched her, she’s hot, she’s really hot, she’s got a great body and hair. I didn’t know there were witches, I didn’t know anything about the Marvel world. There are witches in the Marvel world. So, we are a coven of witches and the witches are Kathryn Hahn, Aubrey Plaza, and [their] familiar—if anybody knows Heartstopper—is Joe Locke.”
.
.
.
The Marvel Fandom site says [Calderu] debuted and died in the same 1973 issue of Marvel Premiere #12, and is notable for only two things: 1) having a kid with Doctor Strange foe Baron Mordo and 2) guarding The Book of Cagliostro, a magical tome which has already appeared in the MCU during the first Doctor Strange movie.
Calderu isn't the first obscure character name to appear in the MCU as of late (see Bill Murray's character in Quantumania which had no bearing with the character of the same name), but this one may have a closer connection considering The Book of Cagliostro.

Either way, it's good to confirm what was already inevitable: Aubrey Plaza is indeed playing a witch.

The Deadpool movies seem to typically be set in "present day", so unless this film isn't due to come out for 5 or 6 years you'd think messing with Logan would not be a problem. (Though I guess we can't really know unless we have the plot specifics.)

You know that, I know that, comic book movie fans know that, but the general audience doesn't know that. The safer bet is to make it clear this is a different Wolverine altogether and not the same one that was seen dying in a few years ago.

I wonder if Marvel will wait until after Loki season two is released to announce the recasting of Kang? I can't imagine they would go through the expense of recasting Kang and reshooting Loki.
