Or lots of alien tape, which would be quite fitting, given the scifi setting.

(Yes, alien tape IS a real thing. My wife uses it for many, many things. It's actually quite versatile, and is removeable without causing damage.)
I prefer Gorilla Tape but Alien Tape isn't bad.

No…13!!!

If they do indeed bring the Enterprise-D in, that would make an interesting argument and topic for a thread... is it really the same ship?

Given the TMP refit, I can see both sides having good points/counterpoints. (Though my answer would be 'yes, they are the same'. Sentimentality, if for no other reason.)

If it looks like a Duck, quacks like a duck, and we are told it is a duck I'm not going to sit there and go "Well, technically the original D was destroyed and so only parts of it are genuine."

The intention is there and call me shallow but I think that's good enough for the story being told. The rest is technicalities.

I don't know why but I have a feeling that the end of Episode 9 will involve the Enterprise-D reveal. However much the "same shp"ness she is or not.

Well, duck does start with a 'D'...

Finally got to see it Sunday morning. My two cents: A kinda boring first 20 minutes, where we cut back and forth between a tiresome hostage situation on the bridge and overly-written scenes between Riker and Troi that don't quite work, which are saved by the remainder of the episode (particularly the Data/Lore scenes). A big step up from the previous week, but still one of the weaker outings. Episodes 7 and 8 would have been better off recut into a single episode, IMHO.

It's really amusing the extent to which this episode seems to try and retcon Season 1 of Picard, from finding out that Riker and Troi hate their lives on Nepenthe (Riker doesn't even like making pizza!) to Data basically saying that the version of him that died in Season 1 doesn't matter. Honestly if I were Michael Chabon I would take it as a bit of a middle finger.

Well, the "D" isn't going to be a match for a whole fleet at Frontier Day. So, what's to say we don't get a whole fleet of hero ships as well. Just imagine, Picard captains the D, Riker the E, Worf the Defiant, Seven gets Voyager...

Could be epic!

I just liked getting to see Vadic bite the dust.

I mean, she's got some :censored:ing nerve bitching about solids "ruining every world they touch" while her own Jem'Hadar routinely did exactly the same thing.

As for the torture and experimentation: Yeah, yeah, cry me a river. War's a bitch, ain't it? And it's not like the Dominion wasn't guilty of THAT as well.

In both cases - the original virus, and the experimentation on Vadic and her ilk - it was Section 31 which was guilty. Not the Federation's fault. The Federation will not be held accountable for a rogue organization. Things just don't work that way.
