I could tell Tuvok was a Changeling. His ears were all wrong.
So Jack can read thoughts. He’s isn’t Picard’s son. He’s Xavier’s.
So far, he's only been able to read Sidney.
I think that's because he has feelings for her.

The way they keep name-dropping Janeway, there's no way she doesn't show up eventually.

As much as I am not a fan of the character, I am beginning to hope so.

As long as she's not the Mary Sue that steals the TNG cast's thunder. This is their show. Don't Enterprise it at the finish, although that would totally be some karma, right there.

I

It's 2am. I do not understand what you're getting at.
You seem to have indicated that you didn't like this episode because you are worried that the season may end in a manner you won't like.
That's a bit of backwards reasoning.

That's like saying you hate the taste of someone's cooking, before even tasting it.

So this syndrome must have been misdiagnosed and is fact some sort of evolutionary mutation that gives them special abilities.
I liked the episode but they are dragging some of these mysteries out. Vadic could have told them. Their plan was also not very clever.

I read their post. I didn’t get that impression
They gave a reason why they didn’t like the episode at the start of the post.
No where did they say or imply they hadn’t watched the episode.

Woof.

As far as half-baked plans to capture someone goes, that sure was one of them. I get that security in Starfleet has been a joke going back decades now, but come on.

Somehow both over and underwritten. Lot of monologues that amount to not much at all. A shame, because they had some good momentum going leading up to this. Hopefully they manage to turn it around next week, but this was a slog, and the drab, claustrophobic direction really wasn't helping matters.

5.

Hoo boy.

Watched this one lit up in the wee hours of the morning, and it delivered.

I've been as critical of scene chewing, mustache swirling Vadic as anyone else so far, but tonight Amanda Plummer Delivered. The. Fucking. Goods. Worthy of her father in every respect, and herself as a villainous actor.

This episode is one of the best written episodes of TV I've seen since Justified wrapped up. They managed to advance the plot and keep it secret all at the same time. Like a shot of bourbon after a mouthful of Nashville hot chicken, "if that doesn't heat it up and cool it down at the same time..."

And
Tim Russ rocking Changeling Tuvok!!!! The warm feelies with the Voyager theme, and the Seven just goes fucking cold, logical, 'you fucked up.'

Fuckin' bring it! MOAR!

Agreed. I found myself genuinely intimidated by Vadic and liked the unhinged way she acted.

While it was awesome to see Tuvok, I'm a little disappointed it wasn't actually Tuvok. I hope he appears in the flesh at some point. I could see Tim Russ appearing with stipulations that Tuvok gets something more than the monotone and/or gets killed off, given how much he seemed to hate playing Tuvok (based on interviews I saw).

New conjecture: Jack is also a weapon sort of created by Section 31. The experiments on the changelings led them to discover that Picard's "Irumodic syndrome" was an experimental changeling parasite that was part of the Dominion's plans for infiltration. Picard would have been a high profile Dominion target by the time he first learned of his condition in 2370. But the Borg nanoprobes or whatever that gave him Borg-telepathy in FC "assimilated" the changeling thing. With that knowledge, 31 began manipulating events so Beverly Crusher would conceive a child with him, but then manipulating her into leaving his side and raising the child separately. Why? In hopes of facilitating whatever Howard essence led to weird ghost parasites clinging to her family line and her having a son who could bend space/time. Jack inherited a lot of shit from his parents, and one of them was a Borgified Great Link. One that combined the "light" versions of telepathy the Borg and Great Link both have. The veins or branches are a visualization of Jack's subconscious reaching out to others. He can Link/assimilate with other humans, as he did with Sidney, but can't in the same way do so with changelings, which is how he "knew" he could use lethal force on them.

Great acting and character work in this episode, especially Geordi and Data. Vadic was great. I guess the performances kept me engaged to the point where I wasn't worrying about plot contrivances or story progression. I think we learned quite a bit, though.

Wow, a lot of negativity......

I thought the episode was a bit below in quality compared to episodes 4,5 and 6, but it was still very good..! I think episode 8 will answer a lot of questions: who is the 'talking head'? What is going on with Jack? I think episode 8 is going to deliver big time..!

If this was a filler episode, it was the best filler I’ve seen for a long time.

True, from a storytelling pov, not much happened in this episode, but the acting, the cinematography and the suspense is still 10 times more exciting than almost all we’ve seen during the NuTrek era.

Plus we still don’t know what actually is going on with Jack. Maybe, Picard has been a changeling 2.0 since Nemesis but wasn’t aware of it. This could explain the strange abilities of Jack which got inherited by the mixed up changeling/human/borg DNA.

I will give it a 9….

She indicated that she could with the other test tube Changelings.

I'm not sure she can do it with ones that weren't experimented on.

Vadic: "And I'm able to pass it on. Any who want to join our cause, we link, they accept a shorter life, eternal pain, for the ability to fool those who took everything from us."

I don't see how that restricts it to the other 9.

I betcha Episode 8 will have more clues for what is happening and no answers. If there are answers, they will be in one of the last two episodes. Going by the clip seen in "The Ready Room", there will be a lot of ultraviolence and head symphony in next week's episode. Damn pity the song is not "I'm Singing in the Rain".

At least for the first 24 hours, folks should have a little bit of common courtesy to keep pic's under spoiler wraps.

I know it's exciting to be the first to post them, but it's really not fair for folks who won't get to see the episode till the next day.
Except the episode came out much earlier than is typical. I came here at 11:20 PST to see if maybe it was up yet and immediately saw the photo you posted. At least I made it to Episode 7 without being spoiled. Thanks.
People have posted things without tags in the spoiler threads as soon as the episodes are released for years now, and today it is a problem? Why was it not a problem for the previous 100 episodes? :D
If you don't wanna see spoilers, maybe looking at spoiler threads about the episode you wanna avoid around the time the episodes drop is not such a good plan
The only way to have avoided them until this one is that you haven't opened the episode threads around this time. If you changed that, don't blame others for never looking at this time before, but then doing it today.
