New droid: DaLaSoLo. SoDaLaLo? Something like that. :D

Picard was not surprised by Geordi being there — it’s why he was there.
He explicitly said Geordie is head of the fleet museum in E1, IIRC.

But at Daystrom that is where it was a too much. I get that it was basically a warehouse 51 type facility but running into a Moriarty program, data, Kirks final resting place , a tribble etc. All in the space of several minutes was too much.
Still enjoyed it though.
If they had only shown things required for the story, and nothing else, people would complain that Daystrom only has everything they need, conveniently :D

I'm not "pretending" anything. We don't have "75-years of mind transfer" into an artificial being, created by one time enemies of the Federation, to contend with.

Uh, Doctor Korby.

Please let them just go with "Questor" and be done with it...

For anyone who complains about "Oh no! Memberberries! Questor!" Can it. Most of you weren't even born yet when The Questor Tapes were made and probably haven't even seen it.

I'll cop to watching it when it first aired, back when I was a teenager.

And Genesis II and Spectre and Planet Earth . . . .

It's why I said most. ;)

I've seen Genesis II, once in 2000 (around the same time Andromeda started) and more recently in 2020 (before Discovery Season 3), but none of the others. At some point before I die I'll see them all.

This episode as a bit odd...
- They have already established that 100 year old cloaking tech had a duty cycle that made it discoverable to modern sensors. Sure maybe they got away with one because Star Fleet wasn't looking for a cloaked ship.

- Why didn't they steal the Defiant Romulan cloak? It would have been more current, without the inherent weakness of the old Klingon cloaking device. Probably easier to integrate as well as it is already integrated in Federation tech.

- Networked ships...fine...so break the connection/transponder/receiver/etc. I guess that would be too easy though.

- Picard vs Picard...didn't we already do that in Star Trek Nemesis? Ugh. Also stealing a portal device (Portal video games anybody? lol), to cover up the body is a bit of a stretch. If they hadn't bothered using it in the first place, nobody would have actually tried to investigate the missing Picard body. Might as well have stolen Kirk's body too to throw everybody off. I'm sure it will make sense, but still.

Anyhow, enough nitpicking :D.

Geek stuff..
- Yeah..Genesis II
- Kirk's body...beyond just nostalgia, what's the point here.
- old ships :D

Did the new one have it?

Terry Matalas moving pieces in place. If he were ever able to get William Shatner to return -- BIG if -- then he'll have already set up his starting point. He's playing Chess in case he gets his way. I'm not saying I think he will. I'm saying I think he's laying groundwork in case he gets to. If not, then I'm sure the novels or comics will pick it up.

I believe Dukhat when he says William Shatner isn't interested. But maybe Terry Matalas has some good hustle.

A little-known 2013 performance by Shatner as Kirk occurred at the Oscars opening with Seth McFarlane. Last known time (that I’m aware of) when he played Kirk.

You could tell that the Monster Maroon they put him in was a tad too small, as they replaced the front tunic flap with a fabric of a noticeably darker shade of red.

Grief is a bitch. Doesn’t necessarily make it easy to remember all the details.

Also, of all of the things not good about Nemesis, for me, this was a headscratcher but a minor one at that.
Thus the reason why it's only the second time I've ever mentioned it on TrekBBS. The first time was in the mid-'00s. ;)

Because it's the most obvious trick in the book. Have a fake prisoner to trick your real one.

There is absolutely no reason for Riker to actually believe it's Deanna. He knows there are Changelings about, up to and including Vadic. This is EXACTLY the kind of stunt they would pull.

I mean, why go to all the trouble of trying to kidnap Deanna when Vadic could just have one of her own crew fake it? The end result is the same.
Well, they have that psychic bond for instant verification. Riker will know either way immediately. And outside that type of connection, she'll know things that only she could know given their long history and marriage.

Given that there's not much drama if she's a Changeling and he has several ways to verify, I'm sure it's really her.

The original Defiant was destroyed in "THECHANGING FACE OF EVIL". The new one never received a cloaking device. (It was never mentioned in either "THE DOGS OF WAR" or "WHAT YOU LEAVE BEHIND", the only times the new Defiant appeared.)

It's highly unlikely the Romulans would loan them another because the original agreement was basically made null since they never went back to the Gamma Quadrant after the war started.

Shatner never shied away from wanting to play kirk again, I seem to recall he was open to appearing in ST 09 but they just couldn't work out how to get him in it, and didn't they actually announce his return in enterprise but It never came off.

Would imagine his demands around money would be reduced now, personally I'd love to see some elaboration on the scene but feel they are running out of time with 4 episodes left.

He looks great for his years, probably better than Patrick Stewart.
