in the books Kirk is restored exactly as he was when he died. So…old. Why would they bring him back old? Even Shatner didn't do that in those books.
ah ok. Odd choice! It's been sounding like that all along.

I've wondered about something that is a possible spoiler related to this.I would have assumed that the Museum Ships were all going to be used in a Frontier Day parade anyways, so they would have been serviced. How they would stand against something like the Shrike is the question. I mean the Enterprise D could probably hold her own, the A less so. Which is why I speculated that Voyagers transphasic torpedoes might by at Daystrom. A Constitution class ship firing transphasic weapons would be like a B-52 antiquity launching AGM 86. A terrible day for whoever is at the receiving end.
SEVEN: I can do better than that. Look who I found in a transporter buffer
Enter Travis Mayweather.
EVERYONE: Who?

If the Enterprise-D saucer section has been recovered and restored, I wonder if a Galaxy Class saucer section could be mated to the newer Ross Class star drive? If the Enterprise-D should show up at some point towards the end, I wonder if that's how they'll do it. Or if they'll do it by Geordi saying that they used some random Galaxy Class hull from a decomissioned ship to restore the Enterprise-D for the museum.
we know that theyI've wondered about something that is a possible spoiler related to this.

If the Enterprise-D should show up at some point towards the end, I wonder if that's how they'll do it and justify the Enterprise-D being able to hold its own in battle. Or if they'll have the original ship in all its glory, with Geordi saying that they used some random Galaxy Class hull from a decomissioned ship to restore the Enterprise-D for the museum.
I want to see this now. Thanks to the way so many people have overreacted to having Star Trek stuff in Star Trek. If it happens, I'll write off the impracticality as Geordi is obsessed with restoring ships and keeping them in as good a shape as possible. If he were living in our time, he'd probably be the type who likes to restore antique cars.
I think it's only an Easter Egg mainly because I can't see William Shatner being on Picard. He'd want a MUCH larger role and far more prominent role than what there would probably be time for.
I've rewatched it enough times to decide on a rating now (I previously wasn't certain if it was brilliant or crap). I'm giving it a 9 (was too tired first time I saw it). I was tempted with a 10, but I found some minor niggles with the Picard/Jack scenes. I see they were essential, but I think they lingered a little too much.
Question about that early scene with Vadic and the underling that was questioning her: did everyone get the subtitles for the alien part of the dialogue? I'm fairly certain they weren't there when I watched on Amazon Prime, but they were on Paramount+. As such I'd had no idea we knew what was being said the first couple of times I saw it.
This isn't the first time I've had this problem with Prime tbh.
There was an early episode of LDS that I saw first elsewhere that had subtitles on for an alien (the one whose wallet was stolen by Mariner). When it finally turned up in the UK (Prime) those subtitles were missing. Fortunately, I hear P+ will also be getting LDS when the new season starts.
I think they'd use the hull of another Galaxy Class ship. Based on what we've seen, if they're going to have the Enterprise-D, they'd want it to look like it did in TNG. It wouldn't have the same effect if it looked different.
Yeah, he mentions about it only being 72 hours until frontier day, and that perhaps they should change tact.I had no subtitles, and felt like there should have been. Annoying to find out I supposed right.
I hope not. They should just leave him dead. We'll probably see the Enterprise D in some form by the end of the series though.Anyway I expect a Shatner voiceover and some shadowy digitalised version of him in sillouhette
We'll see what happens. He became quite friendly with Stewart, and is currently obsessed with his legacy.
I can see him doing it.
I can even see him, and Stewart, possibly lobbying for ‘Star Trek: Kirk’ and it being a one off, movie length, last hurrah as a sweetener.
