That was not about the cloak, was at the end when he brought Eddington in and Dax asked if he cleared his plan with Starfleet first.
My point was: Sisko is know for NOT caring about agreements/treaties when he wants to get something done.

Hell, in the quote we're discussing - it was after Sisko committed a war crime against a colony just to get Eddington to surrender to him.

So Daystrom is basically the SCP Foundation for Starfleet. I’d love to see what other crazy things they have locked up in there.

So here's a question: Now that they've shown a TOS-style Constitution Class Starship... Do you think they're eventually going to turn the SNW Enterprise into the TOS Enterprise? Do you think they'll say, "There's three timelines!" (Kelvin, DSC/SNW, Everything Else)? Or do you think they just won't address it at all? All three seem like something they might do.

It was never confirmed onscreen that Defiant 2.0 has a cloaking device, that I recall, after the Dominion destroyed its predecessor. If we don't know, maybe the characters dont' know either and didn't want to waste time trying to find out.

It's also entirely possible, perhaps likely, that no-one outside of the actual Defiant / Ds9 crew even knew it had a cloaking device.

Knowing the Romulans they likely wanted that information classified, not trusting anyone outside of the crew to know it was there.

Which means of the characters in Picard so far only Worf would know about it.

Even Geordi may not know, as if the second Defiant did have a cloak I'd imagine the Romulans took it back after the war. It was only ever a loan.

It's not realistic to believe that everyone in a military organisation knows everything...stuff like this is usually need-to-know.

The only negative thing I have to say about this season so far was on full display at the beginning of this episode: Vadic is cartoonish. Overwrought, killing random crew members who irritate her. Smoking. Dark lighting.

She’s as subtle as a bag of quarters to the face.

Starting to think it's deliberate, she looks like she smokes 20 a day and has about 9 cups of coffee for breakfast. Despite that being my bugbear of the season, actually growing to like her cartoony nature

The Bird of Prey had been in the water for a hundred years. I doubt it could fly. Asking the ship back would mean they would have to admit that a Klingon agent took the Grissom.
If you launch a missile at someone and it fails to detonate, I don’t think you get to ask for it back.

The Bounty was illegally present in Federation space conducting military operations. Whether or not this operation was authorized by the Klingon government, I don’t think they have much claim on getting it back.

Didn't the camera cut to the body when B4 was mentioned?
I think you're right but I will have to watch the episode again.

It appeared that Agnes only pulled out the draw with B4s body. I don't think there was any mention of Lore.
Which is why I thought it couldn't be B4 at the station. Unless the body was moved. Where's Lore then if so.

My guess is the SNW ship will look a lot closer to the TOS version by the end of that series' run. Maybe just like the New Jersey, at least externally. But who knows, both looks are now referenced in Kurtzman Era productions as being official.
It feels very much like something they'd do in 2026 for the 60th Anniversary... which would also track with SNW's fifth season.

That kind of went out the window in DS9 season 3 when Thomas Riker stole the Defiant, and Sisko had to tell the Cardassians it was equipped with a cloaking device.

And the Obsidian Order was already aware of it. Also, Sisko used the cloaking device against the Klingons when they saved the Cardassian civilian government in season 4.

So it would be an open secret among the major powers that Starfleet had a ship equipped with a cloak.

I do this and RARELY IF EVER make grandiloquent villain speeches --- twice a week, tops!

Anyway, I think a theatrical villain is fine --- good, even --- but approaching episode 7, I'd definitely like to get some flavor of the other preported bad guys.

They definitely should have name dropped him by now, if only because they have name dropped everyone and their mother.

Is there a comic with Sisko that continues DS9?
This is the thing, investing in post DS9 and Sisko literature might be a waste of time if they retcon it this season and they could retcon it in one line so easily , still holding hope he at least has a mention

Someone mentioned earlier in the thread that the Titan should have remained cloaked while at warp.

I can actually see it NOT doing it for two reasons. Speculation, of course.

1. The old cloaking device can only function while at sublight speeds, probably due to the age difference between it and the Titan's systems.

2. Titan suffered a lot of damage recently, so maybe it couldn't handle using a cloak while at warp. To make it work, it might have to be tied into the warp drive... meaning you can use one or the other, but not both at once.

Remember, the TOS Connie design has already appeared in not only PRO but in Season 2 of PIC. The Constellation of Matt Decker is honored in a display of historical vessels at Starfleet Academy.
