it would depend on the family giving the ok. But they could do a CGI type Odo with someone doing an impression or using old voice clips (like in Prodigy). Sorta like what they did in the 7th Fast and Furious movie when Paul Walker died during production.

If it is in fact Odo, Its possible they may get Rene's son who is also an actor and sounds exactly like his father and has the same mannerisms to do it

Why would Odo have armed guards, pointing their weapons at someone he considers a friend? Odo detested guns and would never allow their use for his personal protection and he isn't the type to have armed guards following him around. It is not him.

Spoiler: My theory

I think the reason the changeling goo is different (less liquid gold like in DS9 and more like raw meat) is because the rogue changelings are hybrids. They somehow merged their changeling DNA with the DNA of "solids". It would explain why the goo looks more solid now. I think this episode might explain why they did this: to become immune to blood screenings so that they could better infiltrate the Federation and exact their revenge.
