I enjoy the political thriller aspect too, though I prefer Captain America in the MCU as a movie.

However, in the trailer when Shaw says "I've contacted Starfleet; they're on their way" I was like "Oh, they're in big trouble."

I would hope so. But in that clip it feels like a “you guys are gonna get it now” type thing. Especially with Picard imploring him to trust them later on.
