Keep. Watching. The. Show. or Wait. For. The. Story. To. Finish. should be a mandatory part of school curricula. So many fewer arguments would ensue.
That's not the Star Trek way.

Every single plot thread should be neatly tied up by the 45 minute mark unless it's a two-parter or one single deliberate telegraphed sequel hook right before the credits roll. Anything left unexplained within an hour should be considered a plothole by default and used as hard evidence in the criminal trial of the showrunners before the fandom collectively sentences them to crucifixion on the highest summit of Vasquez Rocks.

Surely you can see the point I was making, I am well aware Picard was not saying he was there but he played an active part through ordering the Enterprise C back through the rift to take part in the battle, given what would happen if they did not, it was this choice as well as sending Tasha Yar back who did not belong in that time period, all actions Picard has personal responsibility for.

Picard can't be responsible for a decision or action taken in an alternate timeline he never experienced and was essentially erased once the Enterprise-C went throughthe rift.

That would be like holding Chakotay responsible for willingly working with Annorax, a temporal mass murderer. Despite the fact that timeline was erased and the real Chakotay never encountered him.

I'm not really getting into this show. In general, it just reminds me of TNG, which is to say it has a lot of flaws. i mean, since when did Riker become such a jerk as he was in the last two episodes? Picard saved the lives of everybody including Riker on the Enterprise-D and E countless times, but Riker refuses to trust him to make any decisions. I know conflict is the lifeblood of any good screenplay, but this just comes out of nowhere. How did Beverly know that this was going to be the moment of birth? That whole thing seemed predictable, a cross between the space jellyfish of Farpoint and the creature from "One of Our Planets Is Missing." Listening to her countdowns, I knew she was going to somehow figure out they were contractions, which are silly for a space-based non-humanoid entity to have. Why have Jack call out the asteroids to Picard when Riker is sitting right there, aside from recreating the Picard/Crusher story from earlier in the episode? The tractor beam gambit reminds me of the Galaxy Quest climax. Why is everything including life support being controlled from the helm? They have other stations on the bridge, but seem to ignore them. These writers just don't seem very good or original.

I rewatched the episode and it was even better than the first time.

Strong candidate for best Trek entity since DS9 imo. This includes all the movies as well.

Writing, acting, music, direction. It’s all there.

I’d be okay with Kai Kira but I’m going to be honest and suggest I don’t want Sisko to appear. Honestly? His story was left perfectly. Unless it’s minimal (like say him appearing to Picard with a white background and talking about linear time) any return by The Sisko is going to disappoint in some form or fashion.
I totally agree - I don't think there's room in this series to give Sisko the time and space he would need. I like to think he returned to be with Kasidy and their child, farming kava on Bajor.

I didn't think we were going to visit DS9, but now I'm starting to wonder with the Changeling involvement.

Nana Visitor is not a big fan of Kira becoming a religious figure. I could see her turning down the role if it was offered.

She was the Kai in STO when she voiced her, but they made a mission where you rescue Opaka from that planet, Kira steps down for her and rejoins Starfleet.

I have designed Terry Matalas the Shrikes bucket room for Vadik and her crew to regenerate in together. I have also suggested that he film a scene onboard the Shrike in this bucket room, it can be a bit like the scene from Aliens where the Nostromo crew find the Alien eggs, but with Boungelikki buckets instead.

In a literal sense, he was referring to the incident with Picard and Jack.

However, the wording of that script dialogue by Terry intentionally or unintentionally (likely the former) makes fun of this silly nonsense;

The dialogue so far this season was definitely written by a Star Trek fan. There's some deeper meanings. Worf literally gets "Denied" in the preview for the next episode, lol.
You do realize that Terry was involved with Picard Season two and the episode your screen cap is from was co-written by one of his co-workers from 12 Monkeys and a producer on Picard Season three? The other writer for that episode has more than shown he's "Star Trek fan" via SNW.
But continue your gatekeeping.

Okay, that one was pretty good. Not sure what number I'd give it but ... It ranks. Probably the "best" episode of Picard but.... That's not saying much.

I like Picard calling Shaw a "dipshit from Chicago" it somehow worked. Touch out of character but I chuckled with it. So, you get this one NuTrek.

Best of all? No Raffi.

The scene above has liquid metal gelatinous Changelings, my mistake. To explain this discrepancy, this could be the scene where the real Founders come and fight the bad Changelings. We could see the liquid metal Changelings clashing in waves against the liquidized meat purée Changelings. The good Changelings could be led by Odo. Unless the Changeling with the bucket *was* Odo gone rogue, in which case Odo is no more.

Also, perhaps Terry is playing on old folklore and using literal Changelings in his story this season in regards to Picard's son?

Perhaps a Changeling stole Jack from Picard and the *real* Beverley needs rescuing?:shrug:

My mistake. The subtitles said "Borg Queen". I don't usually watch with subtitles and thought it was more obvious.

Weird they would do that, seems like a big spoiler.

IIRC, most television subtitles are transcribed from copies of the scripts. Ergo, if a character is introduced in the scene direction a certain way, they'll be credited that way in the subtitles.
