Was there a slight touch of de-aging applied to Picard in the flashbacks? He looked slightly younger, it could have been makeup but it kind of had a shiny look to it.

I noticed that, too, but wonder if it could be lighting. Digital de-aging five years seems like it wouldn't have much point but then they might have wanted to show off what they could do.

“Terry said that if you look closely, you can kinda see
Odo”

I don’t know if this has been covered yet.
I was listening to a podcast reviewing this episode and they mentioned a necklace Jack was wearing at the end with an orb on it. Wondering if maybe vadic wanted the necklace. They were joking about it and not really taking it serious, but it reminded me of this comment made by NCC-73515.

They’re after the necklace because it has Odo in it.

Count me in as someone who prefers when the Changelings were molten gold versus molten steak. But, last year, they were made of sand, so who knows what their next look will be?

I didn't think the changeling was actually there. If it was, why would she need to report to it? It would have been there the whole time.

They didn't show it clearly, but my impression was that the Changeling was just her glove/sleeve. I'm guessing it was a piece of her handler, and the device she put it on was some sort of amplifier that let it rejoin and communicate with its main body across space (and since it was such a small amount, that's why it couldn't form a complete head). It makes sense as something the Dominion would have, a way to give orders without having to leave the Link, no technology needed on their homeworld, and no way to impersonate, intercept, or jam a message.

A picture of Odo was in the corner when Shaw showed Seven a picture of Odo’s bucket on his PADD.

To be brutally honest, I like that it doesn't have to do with the Dominion. I was wondering what the Hell was Shaw's problem with Picard. Now, it unfortunately makes sense.

I feel like Shaw should know better than this. Especially since he has Seven as a First Officer. He's got some type of hypocrisy going on with him. Can't wait to see how he seems to mentally compartmentalize things. He's probably insisting that she be called "Commander Hansen" because he wants to forget she's a Borg.

I was under the impression he didn't want her as first officer and got strong-armed into it by higher-ups or something?

Dr. Kovich gives his stamp of approval to the repulsive body-horror version of the changelings. (And so do I).
