To be honest just concentrate on TV for now until you come up with a well thought out & planned idea for movies. The Force Awakens was great but it was clear there was no clear idea how to proceed going forward with different set of writers and directors before asking J.J to come back at the last second for the 3rd film.

Oh for sure. 100%. Probably would've been titled Woke Squadron: Aware of and Actively Attentive to Important Societal Facts and Issues.

In a nutshell:
Lucasfilm, 2020: We’re going to make a Rogue Squadron movie. Y’know, it’ll be like Top Gun, but in Star Wars.
2022 Movie Audiences: Hey, we just made Top Gun 2 the second-biggest movie of the year. Can we have that Rogue Squadron movie now?
Lucasfilm, 2023: Actually, we don’t really wanna do a Rogue Squadron movie anymore.
Unbelievable. (Especially since a Top Gun 3 hasn't even been announced!) Kennedy has overseen some crap Star Wars and some excellent Star Wars, but, assuming Disney considers the job of the head of Lucasfilm is to make profitable content, it seems to me that not pushing forward on a Rogue Squadron movie in light of Maverick's massive success is a mark of incompetence, plain and simple.

There was nothing "leaked" about the Rogue Squadron announcement. Its professionally made teaser was splashier than any other announcement for projects that are now canceled or on hold.

Probably not on the budget LFL wants.
Just the broke part. Disney likes money.
And it probably would have made money.
The opening crawl alone would have been a logistical nightmare.
Mine was sarcasm hence the actual definition of woke being thrown in as a counter.... The whole woke as a negative is tiring to read/hear/see....
Tends to bring out the more irritated/not as easy to read on the internet side of me.

Aside from the movie itself, I was also hoping it'd make a "peg" for EA to release a Squadrons II video game, maybe with some ongoing support for longer than a couple months, or at least not ceasing patches and balancing updates right when a glitch was found that makes the game pretty much unplayable in multiplayer.
Well, when the new content is less than inspiring, people have to find a way to bash Kathleen Kennedy, LFL and Disney somehow. Otherwise, how will we know they are fans?!?
