Wonder Woman's Patty Jenkins is Directing a Rogue Squadron Movie

Well, when the new content is less than inspiring, people have to find a way to bash Kathleen Kennedy, LFL and Disney somehow. Otherwise, how will we know they are fans?!?

:shifty:

Announcing plans and then cancelling them is unprofessional and so is sacking every other director so your films get mangled.

Hire a solid team first time round, and make sure a project is going to happen before you announce it.

Ok. I will do that when I apply to run for LFL president.

I'll hire you on as secretary of development so no one is ever unprofessional again!

I swear it's like some people here don't know that this is all totally normal for a Hollywood project. Movies get announced and then shelved all the time. Very, very few actually make it to production.

In this case it just seems like a bigger deal than it really is because of the way it was announced. Keep in mind though; that "teaser" was specifically for the benefit of investors, not the general audience. So of course they tried to make a splash with it.

I don't get the sense that LF are in any particular hurry to get another movie out the door. I think between 'Solo' & 'tRoS' they want to make damn sure whatever comes next will actually land. Whatever the circumstances; three perceived failures in a row would be really bad for the company's prospects.

So, you're not supporting my candidacy for president of LFL?

But it seems lately in Star Wars the only thing going on in the movie department is movies being announced and then cancelled. Sooner or later you need to commit and make another movie. It's been to long as this point.

Too long for what? How long did it take us to get to the PT? What did we have between that? The market has changed a bit since then, and the financials seem to be tightening, not loosening, so investing in a movie involves committing money they may not feel that they have right now. Unfortunately, the sense I get from multiple production companies, LFL included, is a sure thing, which just isn't a sure thing right now.

I would love another film but I'm not convinced it's been too long.

I will support it. I look forward to being your second in command. My agent will be in contact. I have a few demands that need to be settled and then we can get to business. Also I got lots of family members who need jobs as well. I am sure we can work out some contracts for them as well. I will eagerly await for you to send a Private Jet to greet me so we can all work out a deal.

I feel like at some point the one announcement that'll stick is a deepfake Luke, Han, and Leia film. Despite all that's come since, the original trio still feels like the epitome of Star Wars and would be the biggest box office draw. All the de-aging work on Mandolorian and Boba Fett feels like a test bed for it.

Of course not; you didn't even try to bribe me. That's no way to win support!

Didn't you know? If a studio doesn't produce a movie by the stroke of midnight, it turns back into a pumpkin. How else do you think Adam Sandler kept being put in movies in the early 2000's?

Everything you just said is wrong. I want you to know this.

Hopefully could see it revised for streaming as a series in place of the Rangers of the New Republic at some point.

Damn international mail system! Now I have to send two checks overseas. IRS will not like this!

Oh, that's right. I think that explains the recent bumper pumpkin crops in California!

I'm rather enjoying the gap before the next movie.

I've discovered that I can live quite happily without crushing disappointment.

I want more Star Wars. More made from the God duo. Favreau and Filoni. WIth maybe a new SW God among us in Tony Gilroy as a potential third.

As long as the shows they're producing continue to be as good as The Mandalorian, Andor, and The Bad Batch, I'm perfectly fine with the screen franchise being purely a TV/streaming thing from now on.
