She said in December 2020 that a writer had been hired and the story treatment was almost finished. As long as she doesn't write or co-write the screenplay.
When the film was first announced in 2020, Jenkins said a writer had been hired.
Also I hope she co-writes it.
I don't. I have no respect for her writing skills. Especially after "Wonder Woman 1984". I also heard about her treatment for the third Wonder Woman movie. Let's just say that for her sake, I hope it's not true.

Well yeah, because by definition that's what happens during production. Pre-production can mean anything from one writer scribbling notes down between doing 5 other projects, to a team of several dozen writers, artists, sculptors, and model builders working 9-5; breaking story beats, drafting scripts, developing design concepts, building maquette and model prototypes, all the way to location scouting and research. (The clue for the latter happening is if Jenkins and a group of LF employees suddenly take a field trip to some USAF or RAF bases.)Pre-production stuff, but probably not any construction of props or costumes.

Where 'Rogue Squadron' has fallen on this spectrum since Jenkins left the project is anyone's guess, between what she's said recently and the way Kennedy spoke of it some months back; it sounds to me that while it may have been on the books as technically still "active" very little if anything was likely actually being done.
How quickly things ramp back up again remains to be seen. Reports are that "a" movie (rumoured to be Taika's) is already ramping up to go from pre-production to actual production in the coming months, so LF's dinner card may be a little full for 2023, so it might be looking at a 2024 production for a '25-26 release at the earliest.
To be fair, although she has sole screenplay credit on that movie, she also had some help writing it... i.e., real events.WW84 wasn’t great. But we don’t know how much of that was her and how much of that was the studio.
She also wrote Monster. Which is really good.
I hope this movie is going to be made at all.
It’s not for want of trying. In December 2020, Lucasfilm chief Kathleen Kennedy announced that “Wonder Woman” helmer Patty Jenkins would direct the next “Star Wars” movie, the one-off adventure “Rogue Squadron.” But in September 2022, Disney pulled the title from its scheduled December 2023 release, and sources with knowledge of the production say it is no longer in active development at the studio. (A rep for Lucasfilm did not respond to a request for comment. In December, Jenkins said in a statement that she was still developing “Rogue Squadron,” but “I don’t know if it will happen or not.”)
Aww man.
