Okay so leave out any politics, make it an advice show, but I stand by the idea of Fraiser and Bulldog cohosting it, its comedy gold. And have BB as their agents, I adored the wackiness of BB. When you saw BB you knew it was going to be a great episode every time.

I agree with you on the co-hosting thing would be funny but why would Frasier agree to it? He hated cohost on Frasier.

Plus I think Youtube / podcast are too similar to radio talk shows and Kelsey Grammer said he wanted something different.

First 2 episodes to be directed by the legendary Cheers co-creator and director James Burrows, who also directed the first Frasier pilot.

The new show will be set in Boston, so instead of feeling the glaring absence of Niles, we will feel the glaring absence of the rest of the Cheers characters. The first episode will be taped in front of a live studio audience on friday.

I have to say I had my doubts that this was ever going to materialize. Both Cheers and Frasier rank in my mind as being amongst the greatest sitcoms of all time. Can that spark be revived?

ETA for the mods: I didn't realize how long it had been since anyone had posted in this thread until after I posted in it. Apologies.

Could be a podcast. These days a podcast can be remotely done, and in most cases, be independently produced (in fact podcasts were an independent movement before companies got on board), and this way could technically have cameos from the Frasier cast as guest co-hosts. Maybe he even has a studio in Freddy's basement. I venture that something like this will be done to give Frasier a hobby. I could see a wide range of topics, from psychology to all things wine. Additionally, he could perhaps become a ham radio operator, dispensing advice to random people he finds while roaming the dial, which could lead to hilarious circumstances.

Okay, they started shooting the first episode two days ago. There were a couple of run-throughs, apparently starting on Wednesday, that a few people attended.

There's a little information out there.

The first episode is titled "The Good Father," ala the first episode of the original series, "The Good Son."

Jack Cutmore-Scott (‘Deception’, ‘Tenet’) joins the show as Freddy Crane, Frasier’s son, a nuanced combination of his father and grandfather. Years ago, Freddy rejected following in his father’s footsteps – dropping out of college to become a fireman – and he’s never looked back until now, when recent troubles have left him with no one to turn to in his life. If they can overcome past differences, Freddy and Frasier might finally have a chance to repair old wounds.

Nicholas Lyndhurst (‘Only Fools & Horses’, ‘Goodnight Sweetheart’) plays Alan Cornwall, Frasier’s old college buddy turned university professor. British, boozy and larger than life, Alan has an intellect on par with Frasier’s – if only he ever felt like using it. Alan’s mischievous streak might be just what Frasier could use to shake up his routine, while Frasier’s thoughtful guidance might help Alan find some of the direction he’s been missing in his own life.

Toks Olagundoye (‘The Neighbors’, ‘Castle’) is Alan’s colleague and head of the university psychology department, Olivia. She projects confidence, warmth, and professionalism – in other words, the opposite of how completely unglued she feels on the inside. Olivia must contend daily with her colleague Alan who resents Olivia’s seniority over him. The two of them disagree on just about everything, but they both admire Frasier – and each hopes to use him to further their own aims.

Jess Salguerio (‘Y: The Last Man’) portrays Eve. Spontaneous, outgoing and bursting with creative energy whether it was asked for or not, Freddy’s roommate is a breath of fresh air. With an innate ability to connect with both Frasier and Freddy, Eve is a critical bridge between father and son as they attempt to reconcile.

Lastly, newcomer Anders Keith plays Frasier’s nephew, David. An awkward college freshman with a penchant for off-kilter observations, David has Niles’ intelligence, Daphne’s smile, and neither of their polish. David’s unearned confidence may confuse some, but Frasier has a fondness for his nephew’s earnest enthusiasm.

Wait...so we'll see Niles and Daphne's son but not them? If not starring, hopefully at least reoccurring.

And we damn well better get Lilith. Otherwise, what are we even doing here?

Per Grammer, David Hyde Pierce was not at all interested in reprising the role of Niles. Reportedly, Jane Leeves and Peri Gilpin were never approached, since the show is set in Boston instead of Seattle.

Hyde-Pierce has said that he wouldn't reject appearing as a guest on the show out of hand.

In the lap of squalor I assure you.
David and Bebe are working together on Julia. So they probably have lunch every day together talking about how they are free from Frasier, or when they have a window in their scheduled, they have it together.

I'm not too surprised Pierce wasn't interested but I'm super annoyed Leeves and Gilpin weren't even ask. Meh.

Why would Daphne be in Boston? Why would Roz? They were both very comfortably ensconced in Seattle. Having them back in Boston with Frasier would be silly.

Just about everybody from a bar in Boston made a guest appearance at one time or another on Frasier. I'm sure that as time goes by, all or most of the Seattle folk will find their way east for an episode or two.

That sort of thing made perfect sense on Laverne & Shirley, when everyone moved from Milwaukee to LA

It's a sitcom. Logic and reality rarely come to play.

Just look at Friends and those apartments. ;)

Okay. Now I'm interested. The show has until that episode to get me hooked.
