    Bigger budget for those episodes.

And that's the problem with the crossovers. They are both amazingly entertaining (well, almost always anyway) but they set up a shared world where the heroes help each other. Except when the story needs for that not to happen.... Which is kinda weird.

No really. These fictional worlds have real world limits. Even ones with out budgets, like comics, don't play "phone a friend" at the drop of a hat. They assume fans pay their money to see the title character solve problem not call for help.

In the comics they are constantly crossover with each other and so when they are on their own, it’s easier to imagine because the other heroes were busy

The Batman comic I read yesterday didn't feature Superman. I didn't miss him.
Why is so hard to believe the other Arrowverse heroes are busy, when you can do so for the ones in comics?
When the the writers want it, other heroes will show up. It's really that simple.

With Batman he’s rather territorial so you could see why he wouldn’t ask for help much.
The only time I read a Batman comic story which I thought it was just odd he didn’t ask for JL help was about 15 years ago when there was a big all out battle going on in Gotham and Stephanie Brown, who was Robin at the time died. Just felt like it was more than Batman could handle that he would have asked for assistance.

Conversely, one of my favourite moments where a hero randomly helped another hero which came out of nowhere was in a Arrow comic where Oliver was surrounded by multiple creatures and it looked like he was a goner until Superman arrived and took care of them in a second, saying that he was just in the neighbourhood. I read that 20 years ago and I still remember that moment.

Except that he was the team-up king in the old days, co-starring in World's Finest with Superman and anchoring most of the run of The Brave and the Bold, teaming up with a different hero each month. Also, how many Robins and Batgirls and the like have there been at this point? Batman is one of the most gregarious "loners" in comics history.

I’m aware of five Robins (Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, Stephanie Brown and Damian Wayne) but I haven’t read DC in over 10 years, so there are probably another 4 since then considering how fast comics are these days.

That's really not a great way to write a believable story line. Even Steve Austin and Jamie Sommers back in the 70s realized that crossovers meant bringing in a different character from another series to save the hero could be an important story telling device.

Every episode of the Dukes of Hazzard was solved by the General Lee jumping over something.

Yes, but only to the finite extent that it could be budgeted and scheduled for, and only enough that it didn't take away from the heroes' independence in their own series. Nobody's denying that it can happen, just saying that it's an occasional exception to the rule.

Also, the crossovers between Steve and Jaime ended once The Bionic Woman was cancelled on ABC and moved to NBC for its final season, just as the frequent crossovers between Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel ended once Buffy had a similar network switch. Not an issue for the CW shows, of course, but it shows that there can be a variety of real-world considerations that place limitations on what TV writers can do.

    Superman is an atomic bomb.

Batman could save the day twice as fast with 70 percent less effort if Gordon would just give him a licence to shoot off peoples knee caps.

Superman saving the day is like your friend with money, when you ask for a loan, and they say "have you even tried to save, or cut down on expenses?"

Now, the Titans or the Outsiders, who are totally on the Wayne payroll, they should hop to it, when Bruce needs a city block destroyed from space, or they can go live in a cardboard box under an overpass, instead of lushing it up at Titans Tower.

I don't know how they can continue to have pool orgies after Tula died in their pool.

    Those kids are %%cking animals.

    Oh?

The Brave and Bold was a comic book that struggled on for almost 30 years, that teamed Batman up with a different super hero friend each month, and "World's Finest" was a team up book with just Batman and Superman that went on for 40 years.

Believable??? The show’s called the Flash. It should be about the Flash. That’s believable.

Nowhere did I suggest there should be no crossovers. Just that you don’t need one every time the hero’s in a tough spot.

Cicada got cornered by Iris with a kitchen Knife. She drove him to the ground, and then stabbed him in the chest.

    This actually happened.

And then instead of stabbing the serial killer in the chest another 40 times, she runs away in terror.

    Barry doesn't need outside help.

    Iris will save him.

Speaking of Ryan Choi.... what show was he supposed to be one after Crisis? It seemed like they were intorducing him to be a part of the Arrowverse... but then it collapsed and we never really saw muchof him since Crisis

I was always under the impression he would replace Cisco.

The Atom has always worked best as a supporting character rather than the star of his own comic. I don't know much about how Al Pratt did in the Golden Age, and I only discovered there was a third Atom just now looking at Wikipedia---but as much as I loved Ray Palmer--his best stories happened as back ups or co-adventures in team-up titles. Ryan had a lot of potential, but he was part of DCs attempt at diversification 15 years ago and his solo title couldn't make the sales for it to continue. I think that character could really succeed these days--although I am going to bet that the possibility of Ryan Choi joining the DCCU is going to be dependent on the success of Blue Beetle. All that said, I would love to see him on Flash.

Gail Simone, who co-created Ryan Choi with Grant Morrison, did interesting things with him as a solo character. Dating Giganta (who was trying to not be a villain anymore, from what I remember) was actually interesting, even though it might seem like a one note joke. I'm not really the biggest fan of any version of The Atom besides Brandon Routh's live action version of Ray Palmer, but I think Ryan could have been an interesting regular Arrowverse character.
