He already got replaced as the talking ball of mucus in the Mucinex ads.Nothing official yet but T. J. Miller got pretty badly 'Me Too'ed. So odds of his coming back are not exactly high.
Which is a travesty and incredibly disrespectful towards the character (and I say that as someone who has never been the biggest fan of the character).
That's completely evading my counterpoint.
WB thought Phillips was the best option and begged him for the role.
Some of it is folks who feel repeatedly burned by DC and don't trust them ever to get it right at this point. Why this underlying assumption in these arguments that the new films are going to fail?
Schadenfreude? Why this underlying assumption in these arguments that the new films are going to fail?
Apparently, you go ahead and make Batman Vs Superman and Justice League.Let's put it this way: with Zaslav stating Superman should be the biggest character / priority, and it under-performs, what happens to the other planned DC films in this universe.

No, it is not.

wow, I never heard about that.
Which works better for some opinions than others. Repeatedly and frequently asserting that one does not care about something is... less than convincing.
Aside from his first "Guardians of the Galaxy" movie, Gunn's other MCU content didn't impress me.
I'm not claiming that Gunn's Superman movie will be terrible. I don't know whether it will be good or bad. I'm just not interested in the DCEU or Gunn anymore. I've had it. If his Superman movie turns out to be great, I hope you will enjoy it.
But then you quote this properly.I didn't realize it was up to anyone to determine which opinions were okay to repeat and which ones weren't.
Yes, it is. The information and facts are out there, Gunn wasn't first or even second choice.
Which is meaningless. A lot of people who weren't the first or second choice turn out great. Stanley Kubrick was a replacement for the original director of Spartacus. Steven Spielberg was the second choice to direct Jaws. William Shatner only got the Star Trek gig after Jeffrey Hunter walked and Jack Lord demanded half-ownership of the show.
It's meaningful to the points being discussed.
It's being claimed that Gunn got the job solely because they want someone with that MCU experience to copy what's being done, that he was only hired because of that. But Gunn not being the first choice shows they're looking at qualities that aren't based on an MCU track record, that there's more to it if they obviously wanted others first with zero experience in that department. Did it help? Of course. But it's obviously not what they were looking at primarily.

It's funny that every opinion you've stated as fact since the WB merger took place has ultimately turned out completely wrong, it's tough to take your opinion as fact very seriously.
