The previous thread was based on the slate up to 2020 which is basically thrown out the window now, and since the remaining films that were discussed in that thread have their own separate anticipation threads(linked below) I think it's time for a new thread about the future of DC movies. I'm putting the wonderfully generic "DC Movies" in the title cause I doubt the "Worlds of DC" thing will catch on, and not limiting the thread to a certain year. What we know so far is that we currently have in production: Aquaman - 21.12.2018 - Grading and Discussion Thread Shazam! - 5.4.2019 - Grading and Discussion Thread Joker - 4.10.2019 Birds of Prey - 7.2.2020 Wonder Woman 1984 - 5.6.2020 The Batman - 25.6.2021 The Suicide Squad - 6.8.2021 Black Adam - 22.12.2021 DC Super Pets - 20.5.2022 Aquaman 2 - 16.12.2022 The strongest rumors so far for movies likely to enter production are The Harley Quinn Girl Gang Movie a.k.a. possibly Birds of Prey, which should start shooting early next year, The Flash, rumored to no longer be based on Flashpoint, and Batman, with or without Batfleck. If any of those (or perhaps some of the other 20 announced to be in development ) are hoping to hit the theaters in 2020 we should start hearing some more concrete stuff about them within the next few months.
1) Birds of Prey and The Batman aren't 'rumored' to be happening; they actually are happening 2) The Flash movie was never going to be based on the "Flashpoint" story despite bearing the name at one point in its development life
"Flashpoint" in name only as the last rumor was it supposed to have a "Back to the future" type angle.

Supergirl movie in the works https://deadline.com/2018/08/superg...iverse-oren-uziel-script-superman-1202440687/
DC will be made or broken by how they treat Superman. I don't think we need a Supergirl movie. Not at this time. We need a Superman movie that doesn't suck. If I were DC, I would recognize that the DCEU has not gone as plan, and I would start over without starting over. The best news for DC is that it simply takes a movie version of a "Crisis" to make this happen. When the dust settles, we have a new DC universe, where they can recast if they want, but they don't have to. They won't be bound by the continuity either. Hell, they could even bring in TV versions if they want.
I thought they were definitely happening? Meh, I'd rather see them focus on Superman, and leave Supergirl to the Arrwowverse.
I'm quite fond of the "Crisis on Earth-C / Crisis on Earth-C-Minus". Btw, I'd love to see WB Animation do something with the Zoo Crew.
Apparently, there's some rule I'm not aware of that we can't have both Superman and Supergirl movies? EDIT: This article makes an affirmative case for a Supergirl movie's potential to help keep the "Super" franchise alive on the big screen, and to expand the brand and its identity: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/h...-lead-man-steel-2-a-henry-cavill-role-1132500
They should do a Supergirl movie based on the Matrix version. A shapeshifting pile of goo as Supergirl would definitely make it different then the other live action version If not that, then definitely go with the "earth Born Angel" Linda Danvers version.
Black Mask to be the villain in Birds of Prey. https://www.thewrap.com/birds-of-prey-villain-black-mask-batman/
I think it is the law of supply and demand.... NOw we are beginning to see the market oversaturated ... Adding characters that already have a CURRENT media is just crazy to me...I said it way back... Arrow and Flash could have EASILY been fit in with the DC FU if they set it up at the beginning...and the momentum would have built on one another
Honestly, it wouldn't matter, and it wouldn't even have to be a movie adaptation of a comic book Crisis story. That would be very hard, and likely tough on the viewer. But all Crisis stories have some similarities. Picture this--the Justice League is doing its thing, and suddenly finds themselves confronted by a bad guy bent on destroying the world, not just to rule, but to reshape in his own image. Think Zero Hour. Given that Hal Jordan is not even in the DCEU yet, I would NOT make the villain Hal Jordan. He would be a villain we haven't seen. Time travel would be important to this crisis, but I want someone even more powerful than that. He can rewrite the whole universe in his own image. The reason I want this villain to have this kind of power is because of the end game, which is of course he is stopped by the Justice League, in such a way that the entire DCEU is reset. Good will win, but it's not a slam dunk 100 percent victory. The end result would be the DC universe that is more in tune with what made these characters popular in the first place. I don't want just time travel involved because I don't want the reshaping of the DC Universe to be limited to just Earth. I want Krypton affected. I want the Guardians affected. History will be changed and continuity will be thrown out the window. The next time we see our characters, they will be part of this new continuity, be it in their own movie or in a Justice League one. It's not the only way to reset the DCEU--but I really think it needs to be done, and one strength of the DC universe is that there is so much precedent. Hell, you could simply do a story where we establish the multiverse. The Earth we have been following can be called Earth 23. The heroes from Earth 1 come to Earth 23 for help. The heroes of Earth 1, all have counterparts to Earth 23. Some of them are played by different actors, assuming you want to recast (cough::newyoungerBatman::cough). They have their adventure and win the day. Hell, you can even kill off some characters. It won't matter because the Earth 1 heroes are the ones we will follow from here on out.
We had two of them that didn't suck and I would like a third one. And I don't mean one in which Henry Cavill's Superman is some lame remake of Chris Reeve's Superman.
