Ncuti Gatwa is the 15th Doctor

We had this same debate fifteen years ago when Freema Agyeman was cast, and we got some evidence of how the show would deal with it: by ignoring (“The Shakespeare Code,” where the Doctor tells Martha to just act like she owns the place) or incorporating (“Human Nature,” where one of the students makes a racist joke at Martha’s expense while she’s posing as a servant) it depending on the tone of the story.

I thought the fact that Martha was a servant while the Doctor was a teacher said more than the racist joke.

He doesn't seem like 30, but Ncuti is the 3rd youngest to play the Doc.

I noticed that in the Ncuti/Millie video that was released today they used Murray Gold's version of the theme, and not for the first time since Russell officially took over.

Yeah, it's quite telling that they keep using the 2006 theme - I don't think any of the subsequent versions have bettered it.

Hopefully Murray Gold is coming back. I selfishly just want him to finally do the series 10 soundtrack album which remains stubbornly unreleased!

I also noticed that Ncuti shaved his mustache. With filming for series 14 so close the 15th doctor might lose his mustache

I'm still not sure the person we saw in the trailer is the Doctor, even though he's clearly in Tennant's clothes (and let's not walk down that surprisingly contentious road). I think there's something strange going on that we won't found out until next year.

The person we see in the trailer is not the doctor but a person that's been kidnapped or held captive. We see that he's visibly angry and being pulled into some weird location.

Through some shenanigans that persons likeness will be used by the 14th doctor near his final moments or the doctor merges with him to create the 15th doctor(shades of the watcher/4th doctor)

It won't happen but I'd love it if they gave NPH a line where he casually mentions putting the universe back together to resolve the fact that it's still mostly destroyed as of right now...

A couple of casting calls have gone out now for shooting in December / January. From the sounds of them we could possibly be getting Autons in the first episode of Russell's time in charge.

Though that seems to describe Millie Gibson, so I could see a story in which she gets mixed up with some Stepford Wives aliens.

It was the fact that they're specifically looking for white extras only that jumped out at me. There's zero chance of that happening if they're just looking for regular background people.

You have to admit though, it would be kind of amusing if RTD went Autons for 15's first episode, when he opened the 05 relaunch with an Auton episode. It would be like a weird meta acknowledgement of why he's obviously been brought back, to try and recapture the same lightning in a different bottle.

Strictly speaking, RTD's first episode back in charge is the beginning of the 60th Anniversary Special Trilogy, not Ncuti's debut.
