Laris. Aside from the TNG Episode 3 drunken sex party, the chemistry between Picard and Bev has never been all that impressive, no offense to the cordial croissant chats. BUT OF COURSE THIS WILL SOON BE RENDERED MOOT BY TERRY, WHO WILL TEAR OUR SENSES ASUNDER.

The question is do Romulans and Vulcans age at the same rate.

Speculation has it that Vulcans because of meditation and logic, age slower, and have telepathy, while Romulans who are not Vegetarians, & fuck indiscriminately age at faster, and possiblely more human rate.

I think I read something in a novel once, that Romulans would rather have sex 4 times a week than triple their life span, but canonically last I checked, it's an unanswerable or unasked question.

Who would you like to see old Picard end up with, and why?

The Crusher/Picard ship was always toyed with in TNG, but other than the alternate timeline of the finale, the show refused to engage on it. We saw Picard hook up and get into relationships with a few other women over the course of the series, and Beverly had her share of relationships as well, including the much-maligned one with a plasma ghost.

The Laris thing seemed more like an unnecessary plot point, but there could have been something there at the end of S2. However, even in interviews, Orla Brady said that the ending remains open- hinting between the lines that she won't be back in S3, leaving the door open for the Picard/Crusher thing.

So, what is your preference? Laris, Crusher, some other unknown third party, or does Picard go MGTOW in the end?

Personally, I like Orla Brady, I like hot Romulan and Vulcan girls, and since Picard and Beverly never did end up getting together, I'd like to see an acknowledgement that this particular ship has sailed, and see Picard ride off into the starset with Laris.

But I have a weird reason for it:

PIC S1 starts with J-L Ps inner torment over having failed professionally, after a lifetime of serving the Federation, to handle the Romulan disaster properly. And PIC S2 ends with Q bidding goodbye to "Mon Capitan," for the last time exhorting Picard to explore himself, to let go, while promising, "see you out there!"

In the ST franchise, there are many examples of cross-species romance: Human-Vulcan, Betazoid-Human, Cardassian-Bajoran, Klingon-Human, ..., etc.

I struggle to find a single standout example of a Human-Romulan romance (Tasha's daughter's proclamation notwithstanding).

It seems like the final frontier within ST romance-cosmology.

And most importantly, a Picard-Laris romance appears to me to be the only way poor Picard could forgive himself. And let go.

Laris looks about middle aged, a little older than Tuvok, so I'd put her age around 120-140. But that assumes Vulcans and Romulans have comparable lifespans.

And why can't we make that choice if we so choose? Laris does have a beautiful appearance and personality as well, and also judging her on both series I think she's actually better then Nella Darren despite my choice of liking Nella.

You can. I'm just going off of best apparent fit with Picard, not my own standard of physical beauty.

After the last rewatch I was pretty sick of Beverly's self-righteousness and general annoying-ness, so Laris more than ever.

Sorry for replying to an older post in this thread but when did Beverly act in this fashion?
